about me
old guy stage musician-harp & conga/hand percussion, longtime (1962) surfer, 70s pool skater (still skating), ancient snowboarder (a Snurfer bought out of Surfer Magazine no less) and you'll find me dropping trees in the pow pow every winter. Old surf shop owner/shaper/fiberglasser, Kenpo martial arts instructor, pre-k teacher, Hog Farm Knight Hog security crew, Kenetic and Festive Krew, & other northern Cal concerts, spirit warrior brother and friend to KarmaRedBear, lifetime member/former member of the board/treasurer of Siskiyou Blues Society, owner-head seamstress-chief bottle washer of Mtn. Threads/boardwarm.com snowboard & ski fleecewear, massive reader of all forms of printed words, continuing to learn life energy healing forms to help others, living pretty remote and in comfortable solitude with the dogs on 8 acres of forested mountain ridgeline in the corner of N/E Washington State 70 miles south of Canada. Trying to heal this land that I'm now on as best I can. A 7kWt passive solar for the house and shop, two wells with incredibly clean water; what a gift this is living here. I've been in snow country for over 20 years now (but still surf when I get to the coast). Step dad to three since 1990 who've turned into nice people, and grandpappy to a little girl named Jessa born the end of Nov '06. The ornery older brother of Kerry Morgan of Festive Krew.
I re-read this and it seems I've been busy. If you live long enough I guess you pick up a few skills along the way , and unless you live in a freaking box, you are going to experience a bunch of different realities. But it's been fun, and when it was harsh it was lesson learning time...hope I learned them damn lessons well. I hope we all do.

It's not just the sags that are showing up, or the bags under my eyes that never go away and the gray ponytail, it's the old (and new for that matter) injuries that are piling up. From the work-related to surfing and bouncing off of reefs in Hawai...

Jackals, weasels, slugs, jellyfish, jackasses, holy shit why put down decent critters living as best they can in the diminishing natural landscape by comparing them to nasty humans??? Banana slugs are interesting critters, and I can tell stories a...

The BC break on Vancouver Island, yes? Heard good things about that spot down here in Washington. Probably will never surf the place but a few pics I've seen and one tribe surfergirl friend have told me a few of her stories...

How Do We Change This Country...

...from this kind of sickness that pervades it? What do you call a country where government employees torture innocent people and get immunity from prosecution by the courts because of "national security?" Anybody have an answer for this?
