He's the best gawddamn dj i know, cept for myself of course;-)
I hear he is the Keith Richards of the rave scene.
Very humble and likeable, like me

Todd is pretty much my God. Or at least one of the Bodhisattvas. He's my mentor, anyway, and despite the fact that he's 20 years younger than I am, Todd is the person I most want to be like when I grow up. Todd perfectly balances intelligence with humility, shrewdness with compassion, and great talent with a realistic perspective and appraisal of the human condition and its local manifestations in interpersonal drama. He can tell you you're completely full of shit so gently, honestly, and effectively that he causes you to actually welcome the information and shift your behavior accordingly. And on top of all that, he's *really* fun to get fucked up with! Todd for President!!
February 21, 2004
I had a random tape in my car, playing it over and over. Then Zak told me that it was Todd. No wonder I liked it so much.

Hyperborea this Sat!
(events » nightlife)
Saturday, June 7, 2008 - 9:00 PM
85 RSVPs
Hyperborea, dream-shrouded land of mystical energies behind the north wind emerges again from occultation. We have been there once before, wide-eyed and wondering explorers. Seasoned dreamers of dreams, we now are ready to push out of the splendid city and recontact the long-wandering 11th tribe who play under spinning stars.
UPDATE: The location has been confirmed as a go and has been reconnoitered by high-speed, low-drag Audio Response Team tactical operators. It is approximately 2 1/2 to 3 hours generally north of Los Angeles, directions will be posted via email and on the web on the seventh.
On the evening of June 7, 2008, we will reopen the portal to Hyperborea and travel deeper into its realms. The music will start at 9:00 p.m. and go until 10:00 a.m. If you want updates, directions, etc., email us .
Cupric
Frozen Horse
Philip Evans
Dr. Bombay
Mark Zabala
Sparkle
Vis
Todd Spero
Myke
Ninth Path
The Alien Underground
and possibly other surprise appearances...
Due to the generosity of the Alien Underground, we will be able to offer you tasty warm beverages all night long. To defray all the other expenses involved in putting on this event, we are asking for a suggested donation of $10 as you arrive.
Hyperborea is a place of beauty and wonder, suffice it to say for now that countless stars fill the sky overhead in their terrible beauty, rounded mountains huddle around and slumber in their wisdom, and there is a soft, cool breeze. Paths loop amidst the temple complex from the central focus to hidden stones and nearby peaks. Totems of ancient and unknown significance surround the focal point and are bathed in a weird, pulsating light that beckons caravans from beyond the Tanarian Hills.
Hyperborea will manifest itself outdoors overnight away from civilisation as we know it. Bring warm clothes, plenty of water, blankets or a sleeping bag, and a happy smile. You may also want something to snack on. Generally speaking, be prepared and we'll all have a great time. There will be an area suitable for fire performances, email in advance for details. There will also be an established fire-pit, if you want a fire to stand next to, bring firewood. Further instructions will be posted or emailed with the directions.
More info at: www.audioresponseteam.com/hyperborea2/

Welcome to Wanderland
Brought to you by motion+sound and alienunderground
For our third installment, we’re going high up in the mountains, to a forest clearing, 2 hours from downtown LA, up in the clouds.
Nobody’s been able to get into the forest for a very long time, due to the fire danger, but this year, thanks to the rains and to some old-school connections with the Forest Service, we are to able to deliver... Fresh Air! Trees! Green!
Plus, after the jump, you'll find an opportunity to give back to Mother Earth, to do something good for our local forests, and (best yet) to get in for free!
The Lineup
Kenneth Graham [control team]
Tom Allain [stimuli]
Todd Spero [plump]
Sparkle [plastic addicts]
Philip Evans [motion+sound]
Dr. Bombay [swoop and plunder]
Orence [alien underground]
Faith [l.a.l.a.]
Myke [red light renegades]
Cupric [audio response team]
Frozen Horse [audio response team]
[earth-shaking sound by alienunderground]
[boogie down projections by motion+sound]
The Location
Seriously, this is an amazing place that hasn't been touched for years. This is not the desert. This is in the mountains about 90 minutes East of Los Angeles. We'll have the site locked down all night, and into the next day. We encourage you to arrive early, and we especially encourage you to stay late. The music will officially end at noon, but it will probably go until dusk, as long as the energy remains.
Volunteer!
And here's the really cool part of this whole thing. As part of our agreement with the Forest Service, we will volunteer our time to help with cleanup, planting, and whatever else they need help with the day before the party. Saturday May 17th is Volunteer Day at the Forest Service, and we have promised them volunteers. All the organizers will be there, the sound people, most of the DJs, and... You!
