about me
I Seek transcendent vision and timeless wisdom; I'm training to be a teacher and a healer while I'm working on my own healing, personal growth and spiritual evolution. I want to assist the healing and evolution of our species, so we can stop inflicting needless suffering on ourselves, the rest of the biosphere and our beautiful Mother Earth.

I believe that humans have reached a point where our further evolution must take place, not in a genetic, Darwininan sense, but in the realms of psycho-emotional and spiritual growth. I think this kind of progress can reduce to a minimum Man's inhumanity to Man, to other species, and to Mother Earth. I believe we need a holistic, global solution in addition to the many, specific programs which try to address these ills individually, because they're all thematically linked. They arise from faults in the mechanistic worldview of secular humanism and are expressed through the paradigm of scientific materialism. Its effects on the growth, culture and lifestyle of humans result in many of our psychological and physiological diseases. The materialist worldview brutalizes human awareness until all sense of compassion for and connection to the rest of the ecosystem, the planet, and the cosmos is lost. I have come to these beliefs through experience, study, intuition and revelation.

Currently I live alone in San Francisco, California. I'm in a master's program at the California Institute of Integral Studies; I will graduate in May '08 with an MA in East/West Psychology; then I plan to go for a doctoral degree. I study the nature of consciousness and spirituality, and investigate alternative medical theories and practices in order to complement allopathy and psychotherapy. I am a single recovering person with over nine years clean. I have integrated my program into all my affairs, and my education supports it beautifully.

I'm an only child and a military brat, born in the Finger Lakes region of upstate NY. I like to listen to classical and Baroque music; jazz; New Age; some World music; blues and classic rock; and ambient music. I also seek peace and enjoy silence. I am most comfortable in one-on-one and small group interactions.

All right, can you believe this...? (blog entry) I just figured out how to post to my own blog. Yep, that's what I said. Thus far I've just added comments on other people's blogs or sent people messages. Well, what do expect from someone who only learned what a "blog" is a month ago? My expe... read more

Well, what do expect from someone who only learned what a "blog" is a month ago? My experience online has been limited to searching for books or other sources of information for school papers, etc. I never really got into a cyber community until I joined Tribes - and then only because my son told me it would be an easier way of staying... read more
