about me
In 1981, when I was in my mid thirties, I returned to college. Many years earlier I earned a B.F.A. degree in photography, and worked in photography and fine art until I found myself beginning to burn out. It was then that I decided to follow another interest of mine, psychology, and so I went back to school.
To show how the future is unpredictable: While working on my B.A. and M.A. in psychology I started using the new fangled desktop computers which were just becoming available. (This was back in 1981-1985). I realized that at some future time it would be possible to make a photograph with a computer, and so I kept an eye out for developments in that field. Enough advances had been made to allow me to write, in 1991, the first "How To" book published on digital photography, and my excitement with that technology led me back into photography and away from psychology. I started to become bored with digital photography in the early 2000’s when it became too easy to do. Then I discovered 3D Lenticular imaging, and used my knowledge of digital photography to take 3D digital imaging to new heights. While studying psychology, I began doing research into sadomasochism. There were a number of reasons for this, including wondering why some people were Dom/mes and others were slaves, why some people switched roles, etc. Another reason was that the psych texts categorized SMers as being axe murders and rapists and loners, and that women didn’t have SM interests, so it was largely a male homosexual interest/activity. Knowing from experience that the above was untrue, I decided to do my part and help shed light on the “scene”. The research I conducted resulted in four published papers in scientific journals on the subject, which did help change how psych textbooks discussed sadomasochism. My wife and I recently moved to Reno NV, and we are interested in meeting others in the area for friendship. We feel most comfortable (at first) with overly bright and overly well educated people, but one of our closest friends, who we met on the ‘net around 1995, is a high school dropout.
