Busy Time Being a Nun!
Wed, March 26, 2008 - 5:56 PMWe had long since ceased to find it funny but happily the audience seemed to find lots to laugh at so that set us off to a good start. My husband took the photos for this production at the dress rehearsal on Sunday and captured me on the stage managers desk in my nun's costume with headphones on. I like this multi-tasking photo. I tried to take a hoop with me on Sunday because I wanted him to take a photo of a hooping nun, but we couldn't get one in the car owing to having the seats folded flat to transport a garden bench. Shame. I feel that would have been a funny photo.

What a fun time, but I can certainly see how it would leave you exhausted. I've always enjoyed the theatre, but I am not much of an actress, so I stick to watching. I wish I had friends around here that would go with me, but then I am sure to be there all the time. :)
Have you tried making a folding hoop? I have several I made and they were super easy and now I can take a hoop with me everywhere I go. I have a small car, so before the folding ones, I had to squish them in or leave them home. |

Endless 'nun' puns drifted through my mind, but I thought I'd stick to a sensible comment and say how very sweet you look in your costume, even with the headphones.
That entire multi-tasking lark must be quite a challenge, but I'm sure you are doing great. Hope it all goes well. |

The only thing that would make this more brilliant is if you were hooping and pregnate! Well okay.. sorry.. just my really left to center humor.

Wow Sue, stage managing and a cast member! That is certainly a lot, I can't imagine doing both. I'm not an actor, but my partner used to be a director and a lot of our friends are theater people, so I've been around dress and tech rehearsals and understand all the different parts that go into making a production happen. Good for you for taking this on! But seriously, we must get a hooping nun photo. The pic on this blog is great though. Best wishes for the rest of the run.
