Excited for the Summer
Mon, February 4, 2008 - 12:00 PMI recently watched the videos that Revolva and Jewels posted of them spinning with hoops like dervishes. I have realised that I'm doing more and more of that without noticing. I think it has been the cramped winter hooping in the sitting room that's started it. I don't like to just stand still and hoop, I like to move about and so because there was nowhere to move to, I developed the habit of turning. When I first started to hoop I couldn't cope with the dizziness. I kept asking people how they coped. But now I see they were all correct, you get used to it! I get dizzy, but it no longer stops me. I try not to jump after a busy turning period, but apart from that I just carry on - business as usual.
I've just come back from the village hall. Monday's are when I try to get up there and clean it because there is a Pilates class in the evening and I hate to think of them having to sit and lie on the floor if there is a chance a few farmers have been tramping about in their boots (and they usually have). So I had a chance to hoop in more space afterward and it was great. I flung my arms wide and whizzed a big hoop around me, on and off the body, really fast! It felt like release of some sort. Somehow I've not been able to get myself up there. When it's dark, cold and windy and the hall is freezing, it's no incentive. But I enjoyed it today and will try to go back tomorrow during the day to stop me feeling I can't go out in the dark. I had to give up before I wanted because the class was due to start though.
My shoulder hooping is getting better and better! Still a good way to go yet, but progress is happening. With my bigger hoop I can chest hoop too, but not with the smaller ones. And, AND, I think I'm getting knee hooping and retrieval (with the bigger hoops) at last.
You know, I think I might just go outside with my psi hoop. It's damp and dark and I have to be careful because I can't hoop on the grass so I don't want to bash it on the slabs, but I feel the urge.

Go for it!!!!
Glad to hear you are delving deeper into the hoop - teaching should be a blast. I am still toying with the idea myself .
Envious that you are doing the knee move - it still evades me on how to get that thing back up....will power and mind power don't work.....not one to give up tho - some day...one day... |

You are going to enjoy the Hoop Girl training, it is really good fun.
I reckon that sad lamp is working really well, you sound ten times better in yourself. |

As Sharna said, you will really get a lot from the Hoopgirl training - you will be really ready to do it by the time it comes around.
Sounds like you are really making progress. Yay!! |
