The only thing hotter than this furry purple man is his awesome chili!
Not too bad winning 1st place on his first try in the 3rd annual Led Zeppelin Chili cook-off.

I bought a scooter last week. It's a 2004 Yamaha Zuma. Now I have to get a helmet and license for it. It doesn't go on the freeway, so it's mainly for zipping the 4 miles to work, the gym, grocery shopping...
It's way lighter on gas than my Ford Ranger truck, but the truck is necessary for camping.
The photo is my scooter, and my sexy truck in the background. So where do I put the fur?

I've been thinking about driving up to Fairfield to see some friends some time between now and the first weekend in February. The biggest obstacle is that with gas prices what they are, a round trip will cost about $200. The good news is that the cost of gas will be about the same whether or not I have a passenger. If anyone else out there is interested in carpooling up to the bay area and back, and splitting the cost, I'd like to hear from you.

This Saturday I entered the OC Burners chili cook off. Everybody cooked their chili at home then brought it in a crock pot. Mine was entry #2 out of 13. I named it "Calcutta Turkey Chili". Mine was the only chili with turkey meat. 2 chilis had no meat. All the rest had beef and possibly other meat. (but can you guess why "Calcutta"?)
Entry #3 was called "Hare Raising Chili" which I thought was the best example of what chili is supposed to be. It was almost too spicy though. I voted for it t...
