about me
Olosha Ojumi Omi Okan – “The Eye, Water and Heart of the Ocean Goddess” – was born and raised into the religious system otherwise known as Santeria. He was initiated into the Lucumi Orisha tradition in 1999 by the famed Santero Luis Gonzalez (Omi Okan Yele) and his sister Maritza Gonzalez (Oni Okan Yele) in a barrio known as Los Positos de Marianao in the outskirts of La Habana, Cuba. Since his initiation, Ojumi has been a staple of the Orisha tradition in the Washington, DC, metro area, presiding over ceremonies or working with other Oloshas, Baba and Iya’lorishas, Oriahtes, Iyanifas, and Babalawos. Ojumi Omi Okan was initiated into the mysteries of the Ocean Goddess Yemonja in her path of Okoto. Yemonja is seen as the mother of the world. From her womb was born the flora, fauna, the gods, and mankind. In her avatar of Okoto, Yemonja is known as the warrior woman, ocean whirlpool, and keeper of the sacred dagger. Yemonja Okoto presides over naval battles, blood spilled in water, red coral, black onyx, and the seven daggers that represent the seven cardinal points, also known as the primary seven chakras in the human body. Ojumi is also an ordained minister in the Order of Malchizedek, and a second level initiate, and in the process of becoming a Reiki Master in the Osui Method of Reiki healing. Ojumi holds an ethereal torch on this plane of existence. The divine creator has blessed him with many gifts to include serving as a medium of communication with walkers of this world and the companions of the next. Ashe, to the Eye, and Heart of the Warrior Ocean Goddess Yemonja Ibu Okoto.
