Guardian Angels come in many forms. Phoenix emerged from playa dust into my life at a very special time and I thank him from the bottom of my heart for helping me acknowledge, understand, accept and move past a deeply painful experience. Our friendship transends Burning Man and he is someone that I hope will be in my life always. The biggest and best hugs, a shoulder to cry on, amazing advice and guidance given - a true friend. May all your days be fulled with love, friendships and happiness. Namaste.

Phew! Winter Soldier Investigation in Washington DC was this weekend past, organized by Iraq Veterans Against the War. It was among the most intense weekends of my life. Even more intense then a couples therapy weekend with my 2nd wife. As one Iraq vet said, a crazed look magnified behind glasses that without would leave him blind and looking less crazed shared, "Who the fuck's idea was it to put so many PTSD'ing people in a room together for three and half days?"

Burning Man is the same week as the National Convention of Veterans For Peace, then the RNC, in the same town, and I have to make a choice and it's not an easy one.

My BM tickets cost $442 for two, (mailing, fees, etc). Make me an offer I can't refuse. It'll help put gas in an RV that is not bringing flame throwers to Minnesota. Just hauling a bunch of old vets!
