Midland based bellydance teacher Pale Empress has been teaching bellydance (Arabic and Goth bellydance) in the Adult Education sector since April 2007. She attended her first class in October 2006 and was hooked from day one, within a matter of weeks she was attending 5 classes a week with various teachers and with the support and encouragement from her first teacher Denise Hendon she was teaching bellydance within 6 months. Pale Empress specializes in both Arabic and Goth bellydance – various classes are taught around the Black Country, she also teaches workshops around the country and performs at a variety of events from hafla’s/ club events (Carnival of Souls, Goth Ball etc) and has performed with and for some fantastic bands as a solo artist and with her troupe Circle of Serpents – Christian Death, NFD, Last Rites, to name but a few, she is also the dancer for Egyptian Tomb Metal band Fields of iaru and with rock band Obsidian Rain. Pale Empress is also the director and choreographer of her Goth bellydance troupe ‘Circle of Serpents’ and founder of ‘Black Country Bellydance’. She has also appeared on Kerrang radio and in Bizarre magazine. Pale Empress holds the JWAAD foundation course certificate, which is something that she recommends to all who teach or wish to teach bellydance. She also holds the PTLLS and CTLLS qualifications in adult education (previously known as 7407).
