Just a quick watercolor sketch in between doing all my anal exam graded pieces. Inspired by all the lovely dancers I know.

This is what happens when I dont take pictures at pennsic. This is my artistic romantisized vision of the masquerade night at pennsic, Clan Die fledermaus. I wrote this journal essay for my class on that evening actually. I had the daunting task of explaining how an evening of pirates, gypsies, vikings and bellydancers around a campfire in the woods-with minstrals and candles in the trees......was not at all made up but was very real. When i was asked to paint a picture to go along with it th...

On my way to work early this morning at 7am I was walking down the tiny narrow iron steps from my third floor city apartment only to discover my path blocked. I found a pigeon standing blatantly in my way-Well I said, I'll show you! And I stepped over him and went to work and class. At 6pm I walk back up the stairs only to find the pigeon on the exact same step as I had found him hours before. I bent down to notice as he tried to flap his wing (I have a feeling it was a he) -he couldnt fly bu...

I'm a local artist in Richmond, I do freelancing of various kinds, gallery painting, and am in the process of getting my childrens books/illustrations published. Pretty much in search of a graphic design position with a company in Richmond. I love my bellydancing. Nothing can describe my passion for it or how happy it makes me. I guess you could say I mix classical Egyptian cabaret, ats/tribal fusion, and Romani gypsy in my dancing since I love them all individually. If there's an opportunity to dance, I am usually there. I'm very excited to be singing with the amazing "Balkanize " group here in Richmond. There's violins, drums, a guitar, a saz, and various other stringed instruments from the middle east and Europe. The songs come from Greece, Serbia, Turkey, Macedonia, Russia, based around the nomadic gypsy groups from those countries. It's really too diverse to sum up in a paragraph, I hope to reconnect to my families culture and learn a lot about some new ones.. I am all done with college! May 17 I walk and gradjumumate.
