This is what happens when I dont take pictures at pennsic. This is my artistic romantisized vision of the masquerade night at pennsic, Clan Die fledermaus. I wrote this journal essay for my class on that evening actually. I had the daunting task of explaining how an evening of pirates, gypsies, vikings and bellydancers around a campfire in the woods-with minstrals and candles in the trees......was not at all made up but was very real. When i was asked to paint a picture to go along with it the ridiculous rule was to exclude all people from it entirely. So I hope I captured the essence of the evening, even without having dancers in it. It was done with pen and ink on watercolor paper freehand. I attempted to create a raw organic woodcut engraving feel to it. Feel free to critique-it was fun to draw.
