Buti is an Akha Hiltribe woman who lives in Northen Thailand with her family. She is a multi-talented woman who, being the daughter of a Shaman, is an expert on medicinal herbs and plants from the jungle near her village and often serves as a consultant to westerners studying the benefits of medicinal plants found in the area.
With her American husband, she works on a successful experimental farming project which uses traditional farming techniques as well as new, highly progressive ones.
This project benefits her community by bringing work to the townspeople besides expanding the local economy. It offers great promise for the future.
In her spare time, Buti makes some of the most beautiful tribal/gypsy belts we have ever seen. She uses basic tribal belly dance belt bases and embelishes them with the traditional embelishments that have been used by Hilltribe women for centuries!
