about me
I'm new to the Portland area and I absolutely love it here! I want to see more and hope this summer to do some camping and hiking, as well as making some new friends. Festival season is almost here! Yay!
*sigh*
It's been a rough couple of months. In the middle of apartment hunting (late May), and trying not to spend any money unneccessarily, my timing belt went out. I called a "friend of a friend" who had done some minor repairs on my truck previously, thinking that if I had him do the repair it could save me a few bucks. Hahaha-ha ha. Between his endless "I can't figure out how to get the (insert part name here) out. I'll rent a (insert tool name here) and come back tomorrow," for o...

I love Sunday mornings! I read email, drink coffee, and then take my owner, a black Lab named Alyssa Ramone, to go play at a local leash-free park. Today, her dad (my boyfriend) is even going to go with us! So, we're waiting, she's sleeping on my foot, and I'm guzzling coffee and munching a piece of banana nut bread. This bread is awesome, if I do say so myself! In an attempt to break my addiction to refined sugar, I have been experimenting with some recipes... I sweetened this banana nu...

Well, after getting to be sickly during the ENTIRE Magical Winter Weekend, then working a loooooooong workweek, I've decided to officially declare a "Slug Day" for myself. I plan to do a minimum of work, a maximum of play, and whole lot of lazing around, making statements like, "Hey look! It's almost 4:20 in Cape Verde! Hey! It's past 4:20 in London!", taking naps often, and going trancy in between.
Aaaaaaahhhh....... I do SO love the day after a Sabbat!
Quote of the Day:
"If you...

Circles is a new and innovative approach to Wiccan education and training. Taught by author Thuri Calafia, each Circles class level is a complete year-and-a-day course, with study orchestrated to harmonize with the cycles of the Earth. Each aspect of study is connected to the place on the Wheel in which it is exalted, and lessons include required reading, pathworkings, and homework.
All Circles course levels teach at once personal responsibility, freedom, and a deep connection to the Earth and Moon Tides, which, Thuri states, are the “heart and soul” of Wicca.
Currently, Dedicant level classes are being offered in the Portland metro area. Classes meet twice a month, and each one is designed to be complete in and of itself, although they relate to and build upon each other.
The prerequisites for the regular Circles classes are the foundation work of the Orientation and the Basics lessons, which are scheduled for each student or group of students as needed. The Wheel of the Year format makes starting classes easy any time of year; once the foundation work is completed, the student simply “jumps on the Wheel” with the monthly lessons, and then continues, spiraling upward at her own pace.
Like any experienced Witch, I do readings for folks - my chosen method is the runes. Prices for readings of course will vary according to the amount of time spent. I also do energy exchanges - one reading for another works, as do other exchanges. If interested, message me and we'll open a dialogue about it.
Currently, I'm exploring a new kind of intuitive reading, called "Soul Portraits" and "Soul Masks", and am looking for victims, errrr volunteers to help me build my portfolio. These are free of charge at this time. Again, if interested, let me know and we'll talk.
************************************************
Soul Portraits and Soul Masks...
Relax into the moment and enjoy candlelight, incense, your favorite music, and the presence of the Divine. Visualize the face of your chosen deity… connect... deepen... reveal your innermost self and let your spirit soar! As you do so, Thuri sinks into trance and creates a soul portrait just for you. Using her deepest intuition, psychic vision, and artistic skills, she will create for you a one-of-a-kind piece you can use for meditation, contemplation, and celebration of self and spirit. For an even deeper imprint, lie down and go into trance with her as she applies masking material to your face and creates your personal soul mask from the cast. Soul masks can be used for all the same things soul portraits can, plus they can be worn and used in meditations, sacred dance, spiritual journeying, and invoking your chosen deity.

Re: The first agreement and gossip
(in Living the Four Agreements)
The wording of the first agreement is, "Be impeccable with your word". For me, this tells me where to go or not go with any conversation, including the idea of gossip. He says to avoid spreading poison about yourself or others. Okay, so a while ...
