about me
An acrobat and jazz dancer since childhood, I was introduced to belly dance in late 1994. It was love at first sight! Since then I have taken as many classes, workshops, and private lessons as I could find and afford. I've performed both for fun and as a professional dancer. I have danced in troupes with some amazing and wonderful women. I am interested in fusing various dance styles from throughout Middle East, North Africa, the Romany Trail and American Belly Dance and creating original, interesting modern choreographies and shows. My goal is to continue studying dance and music styles from various cultures, collaborating with excellent like-minded souls and, with respect and love, sharing this ancient, artistic, athletic expression of a woman’s power with students and audience members.

I currently teach Belly Dance 101: Fundamentals and Vocabulary course on Wednesday nights from 7:15-8:30 p.m. Drop in cost is $13 or $120 for the 12 week survey course that walks students through fundamental movements and introduces the diverse roots and shoots that make up our art form. The Winter Belly Dance 101 course begins on February 6, 2008. Spring Class will begin May 7, 2008. Summer Course begins August 6, 2008. Autumn course begins November 5, 2008. Drop-ins and beginners are welcome. All ages, shapes and sizes can flourish in this ancient, athletic, artistic dance. Bare feet, clothes you can move in and a sense of humor preferred.
