viva la revolucion!

i could sing all night about Love. my lover would rather that i sing about Revolution. then i go and i whisper in his ear, "you know, the real Revolution is Love." --sisters of the revolution

what was that?
did you see it?
a brilliant bolt of heavens fury
splicing the midnight sky
a searing communion between
pacha mama
and padre cielo
genuflect
for she comes as a messenger
an agent of truth
a blessing of light and speed
the deepest gift of universal crafting
the indomitable power
that knows softness
kindness
mirth
tragedy
the phoenix who rises
and rises
and rises
shaking the ashes from her tail
laughing
she inspires
she guides
she honors
i love this woman
she is a light in my soul
the tree against which i will rest
into whom i will breathe my kiss of gratitude
for her shelter is my sanctuary
and i love her

spirit on your side

until one is committed there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness. concerning all acts of initiative...there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: THAT THE MOMENT ONE DEFINITELY COMMITS ONESELF, THEN PROVIDENCE MOVES TOO." -- W.H. she says

you read correctly my friends. and i just happen to think that its so darn cool that i wanted to share with you. so, the house used to be a water catch, and, after the loving and talented hands of mister eric fullerton had their way, it became the beautiful woodsy hobbit home that you see pictured. and i get the delightful pleasure of sleeping in it, waking to the sound of the gulls as they circle over neaby cormorant bay, watching the sunlight stream through the windows tinted green by th... read more

i haven't written an essay in ages. but this is what came out. not poetry. just straight up, to the point, get it or beat it, prose.
i actually wrote it a little over a month ago, but didn't feel settled enough in myself at the time to post it. now i feel secure, and calm, and full of only love, and in that spirit i share the thoughts that filled me -- as unrefined as they may be -- with the rest of you.

be joyful.
be grateful for these opportunities, these slipping minutes that offer passing scenes of
gulls afloat on driftwood
emerald waves embroidered along the granite edges of evergreen isles
hazy hints of others on the northern horizon
where stories are crafted under the shrouded cover of cloud
the songs and secrets of those places silenced to my ears by the distance that seems greater for the grey and damp that etherealizes them
that threatens the assumption that they are of soli... read more

open.
wider.
like a cavern,
or a stretched valley between peaks crowned with mystics and poets deciphering the language of the wind and stars.
drink.
drink deeply.
drink religiously.
but with sobriety. mindfully. not in rushed and ravaging haste,
wiping the wasted with the back of a sleeve from your dripping chin.
drink as in prayer.
drink with discipline, with a reverence for every drop.
hold the cup of life to your lips and tip it with clear purpose,
as one in ritual, invo... read more

...and when the hill takes me in her dark mouth and swallows the taste of me
then from her i shall be reborn
in the stem of a young flower perhaps
made into nectar
sipped by a hummingbird and carrired forth, for a spell,
on the thrumming of tiny wings.

i believe in play. i believe in the necessity of celebration for individual and community health. i believe in following my heart every single fucking time, even if it leads me to trouble. i believe in the wisdom of children and the ancients. i believe in worship and prayer, and the magical power of manifestation available to every being through a connection with divine power. i believe in eco-justice. i believe in our ability to completely transform our world. i believe in a new paradigm founded on local economies and homegrown foods and goods. i believe in the medicinal properties of laughter. i believe in good old fashioned love.
