I love anything that I can do outdoors from gardening to hiking. Being outside in this unbelievable Ca weather is like a drug. I love to backpack but haven't been able to go in years, no companion. I hike, although not as much as I would like, and I have just started biking. I admit I don't think I will ever be the dedicated biker so many people are here. I am more of a casual, see the sights, kind of biker. I came to Ca from Fl so the beach has always been a favorite place of mine, although you would never know it to look at me....I go to great lengths to save my skin from sun. The water in Ca is so cold I have never been in except for the kayak course and believe me I went in many times that day!!! LOL Getting back in is not as hard as it looks, once I stop laughing!! I snorkeled a lot in Fl but alas I never learned to dive. I took a trip back to Fl 2 years ago to take a course, but the day I arrived at the resort I fell off the top of my car and twisted my leg so bad I was on crutches for 2 months...so still no diving certification. When the sun goes down, I want to go dancing!!! I love to dance, but I am a free spirit and never learned to line dance or ballroom dance, although I have always wanted to know how to salsa!! My most secret confession is I am truly a pyromaniac at heart and love a good bonfire. Back home(this is home in TN , that was where I grew up) they were an every Saturday night affair in the fall. The beauty and power of a bonfire on the beach is a beauty to behold.
