Kickass Mushroom and Spinach Dish

Mushrooms and spinach tossed with bacon in a garlic champagne sauce dotted with Thai red chili. DAMN! That was a good one.

New Uber-Delicious Appetizer

Super Spicy Habenero and Chipotle Red Beans served on Homemade, Extra-Thick, Toasted Corn Tortillas. Topped with Sweet Purple Onion, Diced Cherry Tomato, and a Cooling Cumin-Garlic Raita. The garnish is Cilantro. A tasty treat let me tell you.

Raita = nonfat yoghurt, tons of cumin, some garlic powder, and 2 pinches of coarse French sea salt.

SRL LA Show

So I went with Mr. and Mrs. Calkins to LA to do security at the Survival Research Laboratories show. I'd never gotten to see SRL so I jumped at the chance to help out. Let me tell you, the whole thing was super cool. Robots, fire, explosions, a hovercraft blasting the audience with pulse jets, and dead fish launched via car airbags from a 55 gallon oil drum. One robot even went haywire and broke through the barrier, terrorizing the crowd. Nobody got hurt, but a few people had fish on them at the end of the night. SRL people are good people.

Han Solo's gun from the movie, a Lucas signed original lightsabre, that annoying rat thingy, and yes that's really thermal detonator in my pants but I'm still happy to see you. Top it all off with one of the medals from Return of the Jedi and tah dah, I'm a nerd overlord.

All Hail Pittsburgh Cuisine

The famous Pittsburgh Strip Distrcit sandwiches of Primanti Bros. dare here in SF too. Bread, meat, cheese, vinegar cole slaw, and fries. All on the sandwich. Probably the best sandwich in the city. Got to have one last night for the first time in months, so good.

Christmas Trees Ablaze

Saturday night several hundred Christmas trees were set ablaze by an unassociated rabble of hippies and vagabonds. The coulmn of fire stretched into the sky for about 10 minutes before the trees were predominantly consumed, and I got to try peppermint schnapps in hot coccoa. Pretty tasty.

Baco-Vegetarianism

So, I've decided to go on a health kick and do a little partial vegetarianism. Essentially, I'm a vegetarian that cooks all my vegetables in a little bacon grease or puts bacon into most dishes. Here are some green beans almandine I made. That special shine you see on the beans is pig. Mmmmm.

New Years Eve at Otherworld

I had such a blast on New Year's Eve. I saw tons of my friends, heard great music, and drank more than my fair share of champagne. You see, I had the idea to sell champagne at the Otherworld party to make a couple bucks, kick back to the party, and get all my friends drunk.
Well, the attendance was a little lower than expected so I barely broke even. But I did manage to get pretty ripped and hear some kickin tunes. By the end of it I passed out in sloth's loft about 6 feet from some speakers for a few hours of unrestful Oontz Oontz Oontz filled sleep then staggered to BART around 9am.
Good times.
