A smiling, dancing, loving, realistic, funny, charming, blunt, artistic freak who wandered into my life on the way to who knows where (but I can't wait to find out). Whether you want to call her a free spirit, flower child, gypsy queen or what-have-you, the freedom in Aubry is captivating! Her go-get-em attitude is re-energizing, revitalizing and always a welcome addition to the scene, whatever town that scene may be in (just ask her where she's off t o this weekend). :) I hope to have many more good times with you, grrl. muah!

about me
What can I say about my first year......I was rendered speechless at the temple burn and was finally able to put pieces of angst behind me in 2007. The week after Burning Man I moved to Sacramento from Chico and took on a very challenging position as a producer for a popular morning radio show as well as a news anchor position. I've found that since the move down here, I miss the quiet and serene lifestyle I was able to find in Chico after moving there in Sept. of 2006, but was drawn to discover what else my career had in store for me. Every day is a new challenge, and I won't accept defeat until I know that I've done all I can to learn and grow all I can from the experience. I am a people person and I enjoy lots of conversation. I read, write, draw, paint, play music, listen to music, and I have years of experience editing sound and media. I'm glad that I finally came to the playa this year because I've discovered a world that I truly feel like I belong, and I can't wait for what comes next. I hope to get alot more involved this year and contribute in any way I can to make the experience that much more memorable!

So I decided not to go to the burn after getting back to the default world last year. I wanted to do some things I"ve really been wanting to do. So far so good.....I went on a train to Portland to visit happies....I went to the Norcal coast 3 times so far this year....and I got to participate in not just one, but three awesome music festivals in CA this year (Bobolink, High Sierra, and Outside Lands). I guess I didn't anticipate there being any time left for the burn after all of that, but I'...

Hello Tribe.....I'm glad you still exist. A place far far away from fuckbook and mycrack........a place I need to visit again more often. So, as the summer creeps closer I'm reminded of my home on the playa. I decided earlier this year that I wasn't going to go to the burn. Alot of reflection is needed before I return. So much to learn, so many places I've been wanting to go this year and I can't do both....sadly. But.....I think that this way - I'll have even more time to plan and plot my re...

I remember sitting in camp and listening to the clamor around me while I watched several pieces of packaging and various candy wrappers dance across the playa. I thought to myself "there is so much moop this year! what has happened?" I was listening to some people arguing about socks and my neighbor quietly playing his guitar. I tried to ignore my feelings of inadequacy and desire for solitude, but its difficult to find a peaceful place in my head out there.

Not bad for a first art-show attempt. It was alot different than I would have expected.....so many people, alot going on from the ceiling to the floor. There were live musicians, slam poetry, drums, dancing..........it was quite an amazing event. I would say the artwork was really a great backdrop for what was a'happnin. I'm really glad I got to be a part of it. There were a few minor tweeks that had to be made in the process, but I think that it was a success.
