Yup, I was tagged this afternoon, lol. Here are my 15 random facts about myself: 1. I'm not mean. I'm a very nice, quiet, silly person, even though I look like a hard-ass at times. 2. I'm dyslexic and have a short-attention span, lol 3. I get migraine headaches from time to time. 4. My top favorite shows are, Xena, Golden Girls, Family Guy, The Simpsons, South Park, Roseanne, I Love Lucy, America's Next Top Model, WWE/TNA wrestling, Walker, Texas Ranger. I'm also a sucker for corny kid shows like Full House, lol. 5. I'm OBSESSED with Xena, and seen all of the shows over 100 times. 6. I cry my eyes out everytime the ASPCA commercial with Sarah McLachlan comes on. 7. I'm really 5'10, but I'm 6'0 in heels. 8. I HATE POP MUSIC!!! 9. My singing voice range is Contralto. 10. I also cry my eyes out everytime I watch, Gladiator, Braveheart, and Lord of the Rings. 11. I can't stand people who are better than everyone else. 12. I can speak in a British accent. 13. My great-great-great-uncle was Ralph Waldo Emerson on my Mother's side, (no joke). 14. I'm also a descendant of Pocahontas, some of the pilgrims who came to Virginia in 1608, and Washington Irving, (again no joke) 15. Last but not least...I'm DYING to put on my dream hafla sometime in 2009.

(One of my favorite female vocalists) From Wikipedia: Lisa Gerrard (born April 12, 1961) is an Australian musician, singer and composer who gained international renown as part of the music group Dead Can Dance with Irish former partner Brendan Perry. Gerrard is best known for her deep haunting contralto voice. Her career began in 1981 and she has been involved in a wide range of projects. Gerrard received a Golden Globe award and an Academy Award nomination for the score for the 2000 film Gladiator on which she collaborated with Hans Zimmer. She also sings and is an instrumentalist for much of her work, most prolifically using the Yangqin (a Chinese hammered dulcimer). Early life Born April 12, 1961 in Melbourne, Lisa Gerrard grew up in the multi-ethnic suburb of Prahran with her Irish immigrant parents, where she was exposed to Greek, Turkish, Italian, Irish and Arabic cultures. Her upbringing in this diverse suburb had a large influence on her music, particularly on later Dead Can Dance albums and in her solo and collaborative work. Career Dead Can Dance Dead Can Dance originally formed as a quartet in 1981 in Melbourne, but in 1982 moved to London with members Brendan Perry, Lisa Gerrard and bass player Paul Erikson. The latter would shortly after fly back to Australia, leaving the band as a duo. Dead Can Dance recorded eight albums on the 4AD Records recording label beginning with the 1984 LP, Dead Can Dance. The band split in 1998, but reunited in 2005 for a world tour. In 1995 she recorded and released her first solo album, titled The Mirror Pool. After the release of this album, she continued to work with Dead Can Dance, releasing their final album, Spiritchaser, in 1996. Following this, in 1998 she recorded Duality in collaboration with Pieter Bourke. This would mark an extensive collaboration together for a number of film scores, including The Insider and Ali. Gerrard begin a new collaboration with Patrick Cassidy in 2004, marked by the release of Immortal Memory. Again, this collaboration was furthered in film work, including Salem's Lot. In 2006, Sanctuary, a documentary about the life and work of Lisa Gerrard, was recorded and was released in September 2006. It is the work of multi-skilled producer / director Clive Collier and features extensive interviews with Lisa Gerrard and various people who have collaborated and worked with her in the past including Michael Mann, Russell Crowe, Hans Zimmer and Niki Caro. It will be released on DVD by Milan Entertainment on April 24, 2007. Solo and collaborative career In the same year, Lisa Gerrard released her second solo album, titled The Silver Tree. This album was markedly different from her previous work and was also her first album released outside of 4AD. The album was first released on iTunes, with a wider physical release planned at a future date. The album was nominated for the Australian Music Prize for 2006. It is currently shortlisted as one out of nine of the best Australian albums. In 2007, a retrospective album, entitled The Best of Lisa Gerrard, was released covering her career in Dead Can Dance, solo work and film work. A total of 15 songs were compiled. A world tour was undertaken in 2007 beginning in April in Melbourne, Australia. This tour marked the first time Lisa Gerrard has toured in Australia, with a performance in three cities. This tour was followed by performances in Europe and North America. More performances took place in Europe and Russia from October 30th to November 22nd 2007. Film career Lisa Gerrard, live in Melbourne.Lisa Gerrard's first experience in composing music for a film came with the 1989 Spanish film El Niño de la Luna, directed by Agustín Villaronga. The film score was composed by Dead Can Dance and the film featured Lisa Gerrard in her first acting role. El Niño de la Luna describes the story of a young orphan with special powers, David, escaping an institution with the help of a fellow institute inmate, Georgina, played by Lisa Gerrard. Gerrard participated in a number of scores but came to fame as a film composer after recording The Insider in 1999, with Pieter Bourke, and Gladiator in 2000, with Hans Zimmer. In 2005 she collaborated with Ennio Morricone for Fateless.

My sister, Melanie AKA: Meld called me this morning with the worse news ever. My beloved 12 yr old cat Sushi was hit and killed by a car late last night. :( They found her early this morning, and took her to the SPCA to have her creamated :( I'm still very upset, and shaking right now. Its hard for me to type up this blog post. I don't care if this entry has bad spelling or grammar. I just lost my kitty......my baby. I feel like I've lost one of my own children. :( That is all I have to say right now. :( Sushi 1995-2008

I was editing a page yesterday, and I found out just minutes ago that I was blocked from editing Wikipedia, due to "disruption" and "socketpuppetry". Ok, how on the hell did I "disrupt" a page? And what the hell is "socketpupperty"?! I asked one of the administrators on there about all of that, and they sent me the nastiest, rude e-mail I've ever got. Apparently, someone from this IP address has been "spamming" some pages on there, and they automatically thought it was me. So I thought, good gods almighty, anal probe much?? I replied (nicely) to those a**holes, and told them they lost an editor on there, and not to send me anything ever again if they were going to be rude. So until then, SCREW WIKIPEDIA. That is all.

Ok, it is time for me to come clean about my phobia's and my personal stuff. **Sigh** Here goes....lol Some people does not believe I have a learning disability. But...I do. I am dyslexic. It's hard for me to read certain things, let alone type in an e-mail or a blog post. And, I have a terrible short-attention span. I had a HARD time in elementary and middle school, with teachers treating me like I was the "stupid-kid" in class, kids teasing and taunting me. When I got into high school, I wanted to take ROTC, and some foreign language classes. But, my "quack" so-called counselor thought that I was "mentally-challenged" and told me to my face some bullsh*t excuses like it was "too hard" for me and "I wouldn't understand the classes", and put me in the "slow" classes instead. It gotten so bad, I almost quit school. So, I proved all the a**holes who shot me down wrong and passed all my classes, and graduated high school. After that, I went to the Adult Learning Center to get my certificates in computer progamming and photography. And guess what...I passed all those classes with the highest score. Now, that was a huge middle finger to all the jerks who put me down and thought I wouldn't make it, lol. Now onto my phobias: I am TERRIFIED of snakes. One of the reasons why is because when I was about 5, My cousin taunted and chased me around my uncle's house with his pet snake. I ran like hell and cried to my mother. So, to this day whenever I see one, I run and hide like a little girl. I have stage fright as well, lol. I'm also terrified of spiders, heights, flying, clowns, childbirth, werid creepy people, being left alone some place I do not know, and becoming a 40 year old, old maid virgin. Those are all my phobias. Imagine, a 5'10 woman who's personality is like Xena, Boadicea, and Queen Elizabeth I's having so much phobias, lol. Pretty sad, huh? Lol.

I got a call from my best friend Amber yesterday afternoon, and told me that I became a "Goddess mother" again Saturday night. She gave birth to a healthy baby girl named Ruthie Edith. She weighed in 7lbs, 5.3 oz. And what does that have to do with the subject of this blog? Lol. Well, after she told me about the baby, we were talking about our myspace pages and what-not, and I brought up the subject about me noticing her husbands page not being on my friends list. She told me he deleted me back in September because I dropped the "F" bomb a lot on the bulletins I post, and in my blogs. I was just a little stunned and not suprised because he thinks I'm a total weirdo anyways, but she told me to be careful about dropping the "F" bomb when I post. I totally understand what she was getting at, becuase she herself doesn't really like it when I do it. I only do it because I'm either playing around, or really upset over something. But, I'm going to tone it down a little for her sake. Yes, I do cuss like a sailor, its that "yankee" temper I got from my father, lol.

I am going to be a busy girl for the next couple of months trying to get my life back in order. This is what I've been doing and will be doing in the future. I wanted to take some foreign language classes, and I am taking French lessons online. Next is Dutch and Irish Gaelic. (I hope I don't confuse them all, lol). Then, I'm going to take tribal fusion classes VERY soon (after learning it on the DVD's I have), and lastly, save up my pennies to go to the Beach Blanket Beladi in Nags Head, NC this year for the 1st time. Lastly, by the end of the year or in early 2009, I will come back to VA. Yay for me, lol.

2007....a look back

Janurary: Lost my crappy job. February: Danced a lot, and turned 23. March: Danced in Ursula's show, and bruised my left knee (again). April: Was really upset over the VA Tech shootings, danced a whole lot, performed at Carmens hafla in Smithfield, VA for the first time, and was my last performance with Bellydance Navel Academy after 6 years. May: Started to form a little troupe of my own with Sa'ida and Gabrielle, found out I will be staying with my aunt in Massachusetts for a while. June: Sa'ida, Gabrielle, and I practiced everyday for our little troupe number for Rida's hafla at Azars, and was the last time I went to Azars. Performed at Mystic Moon for the first time. July: Flew for the very first time, and came to Massachusetts. Went to Bar Harbor, Maine for the first time 2 days after I arrived. August: Almost passed out because of the heat. September: Was harassed by some middle eastern guy on myspace. October: Started to feel sad for no reason at all. And had a creepy porn guy ask me for a friend request for the first time. November: Was denied a friend request because of my Wiccan religion, and because of my new guidelines on my profile on here, had another creepy porn guy ask me for friend request also on here, and celebrated Thanksgiving (even though I really didn't want to). December: Saw my cousins for the first time in almost 10 years, and celebrated Yule. Lovely, huh? Lol. Hopefully, 2008 will be a better year.
