A still newbie Ren Faire [ ] fill in the blank. I don't deem to call myself an actor yet.

I don't have enough time to do all the things I want to do, which means my house is usually a mess--just squint, you won't see it so much.

Work is crazy and getting crazier all the time. I've realized I have a passion for Project Management (what?! Get paid for being anal and nit-picky?!), but lately it seem all my projects are the extreme long term...think 10-12 years... I keep likening it to being at the conception, but not getting to be around for the birth.

My baby is in her senior year of high school. I'm adjusting to the idea of an empty house (WHOOOOOO!) Sorry, lost myself there.

And oh, I'm tired. Always. Constantly.

The Disconnected Threads of A Weary Mind

I can BREATHE!

Finally!!

Nothing like getting off the plane from two weeks in island bliss to a sun scorched, acrid smoke filled hell!! For the past week, we've been cooped up in the house. Fresh air - non existant!! It's been so dark and dreary - it fools your mind into thinking it's cool bay area fog. Until you walk outside and BAM!! it hits you square in the face. Smoke so think you can't see across the yard, and a heat that just absolutely still and intense.

Senior Project

Did you have to do one of these? Daughter number 2 is starting on her project, and damned if the advisor told her No.

Ran's heading for the art world, and decided she wanted to make a duct tape dress. Wearable, yes, but more of a sculpture than an ode to a seamstress. There's an annual contest with a $3000 scholarship for these types of dresses - she can't enter, she's not allowed to reap financial rewards from her senior project.

Dickens Faire Virgin No More!

At long last! I finally got to go to Dickens this past weekend. Yet another of those things I've wanted to do for ages, yet never got to it - for any number of reasons. How wonderfully fun!! Think I'll just make this an annual event.

Aside from being in a borrowed costume, which skirt was entirely too narrow, and the sleeves.... BUT!! I made an attempt, and have already started on next year's dress (an absolutely lovely pea-green bird's eye pique!)

Aging Gracefully

I will not!

Gracefully indicates that I'm resigned to accept things as they come. No!

If I like it, I'll accept it. If I don't, I'm fighting it every inch of the way, Baby!

So much is happening this year to make me feel "aged". Alyssa turns 21 tomorrow,our son is getting married this month, Miranda graduates in June.

Every day there are new opportunities for aches and pains and twists and sprains. Reasons to give in, and reasons to give up.
