It feels lonley at this bar
the world is just out that door
but stay, sit a life time
toast to a life you
never made happen
stare into empty eyes
faded good times and decadance
stories told and retold and again
habit is the bitch here tonight
imaginary friends and enemies
we all drink this life away
It's closing time and some stay
the bar only gets cleaned
so that we can all stay up
railing line after line
and drink 'til 6am
then it's off to work again

just beyond the final grasp
an ignorant soul

All I need is a reason
a time and place
to drink the night into day
to relive the angst thats as
familiar as the next song
familiar as the regulars
familiar as that restlesss
feeling when it's been not too long

Sharing your yesterdays with the next victim
with the next hopeless soul that knows
about the endless nights of heartbreak
about the wrong the world is
about the tragic comedy of this life

All I need is another drink
another shot of courage
another reason to rage against
living this beautiful life
another reason to make them laugh
with my reason of whiskey
with my reason of fear
