My Story (and I'm sticking to it)

about me
I am a retired Army Master Sergeant (1986.) My career was unusual. I spent my first years as a Special Forces commando type, with two trips to Vietnam in a close combat, black ops program. (I'm rated 70% disabled for PTSD by the VA--a certified nutball.) I spent some years teaching military freefall techniques to the Chinese and Korean Special Forces. After I moved stateside, I volunteered to teach race and gender sensitivity classes in the early years of the Army's Equal Opportunity Program (and I have the scars to prove it). I was one of the first NCO's to attend the Army's organizational development school at Fort Ord. While working as a consultant in the Army, I became fascinated by large organizational systems and large systems change. I retired in 1986; twenty years, exactly, from the day I entered.

I have a degree in Linguistic Anthropology. My specific interest is pragmatics--which is, the study of the relationship between the speaker and the utterance. My interest is in large system cultural change; and the relationship between language and power, and personal and public identity. I'm a bit of a geek about it.

In 1981, the Army introduced me to Neuro-Linguistic Programming. I became a NLP nut. Eventually, I became the sole NLP Master Practitioner in the Army. First, the Army sent me to the teaching faculty at the Organizational Effectiveness Center & School at Fort Ord, California, and then later to Intelligence & Security Command to teach NLP and hypnosis to Army spooks (spies). While at Fort Ord, I taught consulting skills during the week, then shot up the road to Santa Cruz to hang out with Todd Epstein. I spent a year (1983) as a 'resource person' for NLP seminars Todd did with Robert Dilts and Richard Bandler. I was hooked on the linguistic notions of NLP and considered them the most useful in business and everyday interactions.

In 1994, I was introduced to John Searle's (Philosopher of Language--UC Berkeley) Speech Act Theory. I was a consultant at Lockheed Missiles System Division. I saw that Speech Act Theory could be used as a model of analysis for organizational systems. Most of the people I knew studying/teaching it saw its use regarding personal change (or, as they called it, "coaching"); its use in that arena was very effective but, like NLP, I assessed it was not well grounded academically. I worked with Sonoma State University's Anthropology Department and designed an Organizational Anthropology degree program, which I completed in 1999.

My fascination is the relationship between language and power, and personal and public identity. For my thesis, I decided to test my theory/model in an arena outside of business organizations. I studied and wrote, "Who's on Top: The Ironic Structure of Dominant/submissive Sexual Ritual." Going to school full time spoiled me for work--so, I retired--and like many anthropologists, I went native.

I'm a big fan of hemp, I smoke cigars and cigarettes, and play golf. I play golf two or three times a week. I shoot in the low 80's-high 70's, my lowest was a (3 over) 74. I like to play fast.

I'm a trustworthy, intense, and dominant, shameless, ethical slut. I am facile with most BDSM toys (especially singletails and knifeplay), and hypnosis. I've a 'nothing is sacred' sense of humor. Despite my intensity, I'm an nice, easy-going guy. Everything is consensual, safe and non-exploitive. I've a thing for BBW's and cuckold relationships as a bull for a slut wife and obedient or submissive hubby. All fetishes are legitimate; I'm open to most. I've probably done it--if I liked it I am still doing it.

In 2005, I had a mastectomy of my right breast. It was not cancer related, but I lot my right nipple and have a long scar. I took it lightly and joked to relieve the tension. I did not expect the emotion that overtook me. These days, I don't think much about it. I often forget to mention it. The missing nipple and scar still shocks me now and then when I pay attention to my reflection. I still miss getting it pinched during sex.

My favorite quotes :

"When a relationship is being conserved, a system arises." neurobiologist, Humberto Maturana

"Bro, after this (Vietnam), everything else is a fucking party." Vietnam veteran, CW4 Brady Jones

"Everything that is said, is said by some one." neurobiologist, Humberto Maturana
