got stopped at a railroad intersection, got to watch as a caravan of cars carrying around 30 brand new military tanks and about 200 new hummers rolled by~ thought you might want to know what you bought with your taxes this year. débutante wanna be's or have beens... slicked haired preachers and missing teeth elders. Almost ran over a pack of no sleeved bubba's, ya know they travel in 3 or more at a time. it's so bad I'm missing me some Mission hipsters right about now. The south isn't all bad, most men still open the doors for ladies here, Regardless of equal rights, it is a very kind gesture that never goes unnoticed.

I have been all about making my Internet experience more efficient so here are a few things that I love! I wanted to share. http://www.digsby.com/ Have more than one email address and you find yourself opening and closing? Want to add your facebook and myspace pages? you can see your twitter, myspace, facebook and all your email accounts AND chat in one little window... NO SHIT! I LOVE THIS TOOL. OH and you can transfer files within chat like google talk. The latest: http://www.zotero.org A research tool. ONce you update firefox and download zotero... then restart, you wont see anything unless you go to .....view/ toolbars/customize...... and then you should see your "z" and drag it to your toolbar! Watch the video. But this organizes all your research... Let me know if you like them!

Those Party Klowns

Gooferman played at a great outdoor venue called "the enchanted forest" It is well, a forest in the middle of town that an artist community took over and sets up crafts (burner art) and has a few music areas (not as large scale as lightning in a bottle) and a large stage built over a creek. The forest was filled with happy people wandering around, drinking their byob bottles, socializing and digging tunes. We were thrilled to welcome the Klowns to Austin! Hugs were exchanged, bottles and smoke were shared and then a random spontaneous combustion of "beats" broke out on a fixture in the forest that had, um... glass bottles some broke,imagine that... metal things that clanged, .., wires that twang, and led light strands that were just pretty. Soon there was a huge party around the Klowns they definately brightened up the forest with their antics. Thank God for KLownS. http://www.gooferman.com/

The Loft, FREE Queso and 40 foot flames

(Tex here) Let's get the loft out of the way, here's the linky: http://www.flickr.com/photos/24367947@N05/sets/72157604062549368 I took tha' pics late at night, but at least you can see we've got more than a few feet to stretch out in :) The art on the walls of photography (can't remember the gal) is extra super cool and just-our-style. (lotsa nakedness and freaks) Much of it centers around the gal's girlfriend, an Austin art teacher, who was subsequently fired for allowing the shots to show up on Flickr. She was ratted out by another teacher, eyemagine that! I'd post links to pics, but the offending material was taken down a few months ago, I guess her life got really crazy as a result. So, Cat's in heaven, having a large modern kitchen / a BIG ass TX sized bathtub and a space that's really quiet...so quiet it's hard to sleep, we need some Mission Street noize (did I tell you how much we miss ya'll?) OK, lemme also establish the importance of Queso in our lives. If you're not familiar with this delicacy, consult the Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chili_con_queso We have grown up with this, much like Asians might know rice-based recipes or our Indian friends have been raised with the curry powders. If you like cheesy sauces of ANY kind, NOTHING COULD THEN PREPARE YOU FOR THE TOUNGE-COATING GOODNESS OF A WELL DONE BOWL OF QUESO. It's lifeblood for a Texan, you can administer CPR with Queso..lives have been saved by simply having it near a Texan's deathbed...paramedics keep it on-tap, seriously. My grnadpa killed a man over queso, but never regretted it, not once. As such, we have missed this uniquely TexMex creation, having to make it ourselves on rare occassions while in SF. Our Prime Directive in Austin IS: EAT QUESO DAILY! We are now 5 for 5, in fact, WE'VE FOUND IT FOR FREE! Yep, there's a chain here that fuggin GIVES IT AWAY, BY THE BUCKET, ALL YOU CAN EAT. Chuy's is based in Austin, we heard about it, we went there b/c it was closeby and we weren't prepared for: A QUESO BAR, REPLETE WITH CHIPS AND SALSA, ALL IN HUGE QUANTITIES, ALL FREE WHILE YOU EAT / WAIT / HANGOUT / DO YO' THANG...just come partake of the queso goodness, it's ON THEM! Had we not already paid for the loft, I'd have asked for a small space under a table nearby the queso bar, just so I could wake up and maybe drizzle it over Cheerios. In addition to the queso bar, their "Texas Martini" is a blend of premium Cuervo Tequila, Grand Marnier and fresh lime joose with a jalapeno stuffed olive, enough for damn near 2 deep glasses and all for $6! Fuck that spot on Valencia that supposedly has good 'ritas, fuck 'em henceforth with immediation, they are cads and ruin the good name of the hallowed margarita. $6 got us 'ritas that come close to our own creations, I think we can now live on queso and ritas. We're checking with local physicians on the health implications of this plan. Ever seen 40 foot flames? A billowing stram of black smoke filled with large, floating redhot embers, hundreds of feet long into the air? Only 200 feet away from you? With 20 firetrucks and 60 firemen? Only 200 feet away from you? With flaming redhot embers dropping 50 feet in front of you on the ground? Just over a building, across the street from us, an automotive repair shop caught on fire last night. We heard firetrucks but ignored them, we live in the Mission right? NO.BIG.DEAL. The flames caught our attention, finally (you know how it is when you're just engrossed in RedTube, right? No, really, it's called WORK) This place was ON FUCKING FIRE, LIKE MICHAEL BAY AND BRUCKHEIMER WERE FILMING! Too cool, too cool...flames 40-60 feet in the air, guys on ladder trucks, trees on fire, people fleeing, cats sleeping with dogs. No pics to share :( That's the update for Friday, we love ya' and we miss ya' and we'll be back soon. Sleeping room is available on our floor if you can fly in! Bring costumes!

Hello from Austin, TX

We rolled into town last Friday! We dove all night! Friday morning we started off in Tucson, AZ. stopped in El Paso, weren't sure if we were going to drive it or stay the night, had some yummy food, some coffee, and decided to keep going. We landed a sweet loft here in Austin. It is on the East side, I hear this is the up and coming. Artists tend to live on this side, much like Oakland warehouse district is becoming more and more populated with artists. It's a new loft, the owner lives across town, and rents this furnished. We have a great selection of photography on the walls done by a friend of hers. I will have to get her name to share with you. We are working long hours right now. The http://songnumbers.com site is coming along. Our engineers are working around the clock to make it functional as Tex works with them to make sure that it keeps it aesthetic. (He is the designer) In the mean time, I am working hard to keep in fat, dumb and happy (HOORAY I have a kitchen!) and contacting all the artists that will be attending SXSW 1700 of them to offer them a song number. I think we told you that DOC POP has his number already. Thus the flyer attached to this blog entry. We want to apologize to you all for not being "in touch" right now. We do want to hear from you and wish that we could share this experience with all of you. This is our time to shine so we are pushing through as hard as we can. stay tuned from more updates..........
