about me
I’m an optimist who always tries to find the positive in a situation. I find the humor in bad circumstances, the beauty in ugly and evil things. I try my best to avoid people who are in a constant state of negativity, unhappiness and complaining (the "fun-suckers") because they bring me down with them.

According to my mom I live in a "happy bubble", but hey, I like it that way! I want to experience everything this world has to offer, and I’m grateful for each day I wake up and get another chance to do that.

"Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive." ~Howard Thurman

Journey to the center of my mind...

40 Years of Silence trailer
www.youtube.com/watch

My friend Heidi edited this documentary. I went to a test screening of it several months ago, and I thought it was amazing! I definitely recommend you see it once it comes out (just take an extra dose of anti-depressants before you do - as you can tell from the trailer the subject matter is pretty dark).

Focus On Unemployment: Cash-Strapped Dobson Empire Cuts Staff After Lavishly Funding Anti-Gay Campaign In California

November 19, 2008

Next week, Americans will kick off the holiday season, but sadly, several employees at James Dobson’s Focus on the Family (FOF) probably have lost that festive spirit.

On Dobson’s radio broadcast yesterday, he shared that Colorado-based FOF is “experiencing the same financial shortfall and some of the pressures that have resulted from the economic dow... read more

This Saturday, November 15th is a national protest for gay rights (in response to the passage of Prop 8 in California and similar ballot measures in other states) with simultaneous rallies all over the country (even in Alaska and Hawaii!) at 10:30 a.m. PST/1:30 p.m. EST. For details on the protest location closest to you, check jointheimpact.wetpaint.com

If this is as huge as it looks like it's going to be, that speaks volumes about the gay community and supporters because this was ... read more

A group called Join The Impact is planning a national protest for gay rights in response to the passage of Prop 8 in California, organizing simultaneous rallies on the steps of City Halls all over the country on Saturday, November 15th at 10:30 a.m. PST/1:30 p.m. EST. This Saturday's protest is one of many national demonstrations that are sure to follow to show the country that the LGBT community is large, well organized, has many supporters and are not going away, and the time has come to ex... read more

Two online positions are up now. One proposes to re-open Prop 8 www.petitiononline.com/seg513...on.html (This one needs some work, in my opinion. I emailed the petition's author to suggest it should be worded in a less combative way, considering that Gov. Schwarzenegger opposed Prop 8. Now I'm noticing that it does not propose any plan of action or ask for anything specific, so I'm hoping someone else will email her about that. I would, but since I already emailed her with a sugge... read more
