about me
Let's see. I'm somewhere inbetween a go get'er and a waite and see girl, and well it could go either way at any time. I believe that there is some inherent organization to the universe which will make things work out in the end. So I'm pretty layed back about most things. Well, except for the things I create with my own hands they must be nothing less than everything I've ever wanted. I think it is this stiving for perfection and realizing that it doesn't necessarily exist except as a modivator is why my relationship with my work it fairly balanced. Other things about me, I love to make wonderous things to share with others. I love to dance and learn everything I can about dance because well it's important to have a lot of tricks in your bag. I enjoy a pun in bad taste and well any lot of grammar snob jokes. I would be a grammar snob if I would take the time to have decent grammar myself. I love my animals because they love me. I don't love the fact that I fall randomly because of a knee injury, note: this was aquired during a routine chair dancing routine accident. I also like riding roller coasters that go upside down. Oh and figure drawing, love, love, love it. Knitting, shibori, making stange costumes more no particular reason other than they make me happy, decorating christmas trees, drinking good wine in the bath tub while listening to blues, cooking experimental things for myself and my friends, pilates in the morning, Good Eats, Travel Channel, I like TV that teaches me something, charismatic talented driven people, tiny cars, painting, drawing, I particularly like drawing leaves for some reason, brown cury hair note: until recently I had no idea this was a reaccuring preference, but upon further analysis of people that I'm attracted to I discovered that I like it stangely more than most people, but I don't think it's unhealthy. I also like singing badly in the car, watching trains go by,, taking walks in the woods when the moon is full, and sleeping under the stars. There's more and that's why you should get to know me.
Martha Graham to Agnes deMille
"There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening
That is translated through you into action,
And because there is only one of you in all time,
This expression is unique.
If you block it,
It will never exist through any other medium
And be lost.
The world will never have it.
It is not your business to determine how good it is,
Nor how valuable it is,
Nor how it compares with other expressions.
It is your business to keep it yours, clearly and directly,
To keep the channel open.
You do not even have to believe in yourself or your work.
You have to keep open and aware
Directly to the urges that motivate you.
Keep the channel open.
No artist is pleased.
There is no satisfaction whatever at any time.
There is only a queer, divine dissatisfaction,
A blessed unrest that keeps us marching
And makes us more alive than others."
