Tonight I feel so good after teaching my bellysamba class, that I feel the need to write something about it! I recently opened this class, in the attempt to teach a fusion of bellydance drills and samba. The idea of this style is to combine bellydance isolations and graceful moves, to the wild and crazy steps of samba!! Amongst many of my hobbies, one of them has been taking lots of my time lately... and it is SAMBA! My boyfriend runs a samba school in Fremantle WA called Beleza Escola de Samba. Little by little, he's been teaching most of the instruments of the bateria : caixa, chocalho, ganza, tamboim, agogo bell, surdo etc... I have the pleasure to announce the opening of my World bellydance school, FINALLY!! The dance classes for 2008 will be held at Bicton Hall, corner of Canning Hwy and Carrington Rd, East Fremantle, every Friday from 7.30 to 8.30pm. I just got back from a wonderful spiritual and enlightening trip in the Northen Territories of Australia, with my mother. We travelled from Darwin to Yulara, through Katherine, Litchfield NP, Kakadu NP, Alice Springs and Uluru and Kata Tjuta NP. Apart from the natural beauty of the places we visited, it was also a spiritual experience to touch a bit of the aboriginals culture. Earthdance’s theme this year was “WATER”…and the water came ! I left Belmont under a storm, heading for Fairbridge… The road was difficult, I was blind each time I was crossing a truck ! I hate driving when it’s raining… I escaped a car accident when at a red traffic light, I braked and my car kept going until the middle of the intersection !!
