Well, what can you say about a man that kills camp? Don't let the "Camp K" fool you.....it stands for "Camp Killer" and there is a fantastic story behind it that I probably shouldn't tell here.....All I can say about it is that poor planning will fuck your world.
Peter is my oldest playa buddy, and we have had more laugh-til-the-tears-run-down-your-face-and-you-keel-over-in-the-dust times on the playa than I can count. He and I were Rovers of the Late Night, and had fine, fine adventures.
Peter has the soul of an artist, though he hides it behind that Philly thang and his wretched fandom concerning the Eagles. Every year he's been to the playa, he has brought art pieces that are well conceived and executed. He was the first in our theme camp to get his art placed out on the playa (2 years in a row).....his life raft/shark piece from '02 was just outstanding! When vandals hit his projects, we all wanted to hunt them down like the dogs they were. Artists like Peter should be encouraged and nurtured on the playa, not abused.
Peter has also given back to Black Rock City through his Burning Man Blues Show on Radio Electra, 2002-2003. The popular 2 hr. daily radio program brought Peter's fine radio personality to the playa, along with a style of music otherwise never heard at Burning Man. He also conceived of the daily Guitars That Rule the Playa Show, which he and I co-hosted 2002-2003, and which he has graciously entrusted to Matt and I now that he no longer goes to the playa.
Peter is generous and wears his heart on his sleeve. He opened his RV up to Matt and I so that our aged bodies didn't have to sleep (or try to, anyway) in tents anymore. I will be ETERNALLY grateful to him for that. But beyond that, Peter is a good guy and I wish we didn't have half a country between us. I also hope that one day he will return to the playa. His place will always be open in SCARAB Camp.
Salute', brudda!
