For Los Angeles based artist, Christine Yee, being a visual artist has served as a spiritual gateway to a creative force that has been a part of her entire life. Bold color combinations, new possibilities in accidental strokes and splotches of paint and unconventional elements come together through a magical process. The finished pieces bring about visual experiences of a most unique and whimsical nature. They are almost like visits to a parallel reality, reminiscent of a lost consciousness that is innocent, wild and yet slightly sorrowful.

In describing her creative process, Christine says:
“The interesting thing about my work is that I never really have a concrete idea of what the result will be. I get these flashes of insight which propel me to express certain ideas visually. I just start with a simple concept as my starting point, and allow my subconscious to direct the details as I go. It is a pretty strange logic actually. A blank surface is the one place where I feel truly free and able to break conventional lines of thought without stirring up too much trouble.”

Christine has never really had any formal artistic training. Because of this she has been able to cultivate her own aesthetic style that is quite distinct from any known artistic movement. After graduating from UCLA with a bachelor degree in Psychobiology, Christine worked extensively with autistic children whose artistic endeavors helped to inspire her ever evolving, unique style.

Art has always served as an expressive outlet and a sanctuary for Christine. She is just starting to show her pieces to the public. In 2006 she did a private exhibition at Lombardo Studios, called Beyond the Turquoise Veil. In August 2007, one of her shadow box pieces, “For Heaven Has No Doctrine,” was on display at Art Slave gallery in downtown Los Angeles.
In September 2007, she held a solo exhibition along with a live performance art show at The Stone Bar in Hollywood, which was promoted by Surge Events.

Christine Yee is proud to hold another exhibition of her work in the month of January 2008 at Enchanted Deva. This collection will showcase past pieces as well as current works This event will usher another wild trip into the imagination of this one of a kind artist.

Ritual Oil Creation & Charging Ritual at Enchanted Deva's (events » other) Saturday, January 26, 2008 - 6:00 PM Thorne-Cradle and Enchanted Deva are presenting a Ritual Oil Creation
and Charging ritual
Saturday, January 26th, starts at 6pm.

With the help of the Goddess of the Crossroads, we are going to create
a ritual oil and charge it, for all of us to use in the upcoming Wheel
of the Year.

Everyone should bring one essential oil to add into the mix and an
empty dram bottle to take the finished, charged oil back with them.
(Deva's has empty dram bottles and essential oils in stock).

If you aren't comfortable raising energy by dancing, bring a drum or
other type of music-maker so you can raise energy through music. If you
can dance and make music at the same time, all the better! We'll be
using that energy to charge the oil.

If you have your own private ritual oil that you don't want to add to
the blend, but want to include in the charging, feel free to bring
that as well, but make sure you label it and let us know that it's to
be kept separate.

Magical Workings Operations Workshop with Ed Fitch (events » other) Tuesday, January 29, 2008 - 7:00 PM 100 RSVPs The class at Enchanted Deva's will start at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, January 29, and will cover use of magickal tools, spells, circle casting,
principles of magick , the use of myth and god-forms, types of magick, and an exercise to activate your psychic centers. Afterwards we will go out to the ceremonial area in back, where I will lead and coach everyone through an elemental magickal rite. You will get not only my handouts on the talk (including the Color Fountain chakra exercise) , but also the full script for the ceremony that you've just experienced.
Fee for Workshop is $20 per person

Ed Fitch helped to create the Pagan Way in 1970 as a response to the rapidly rising interest in Paganism. It was apparently a form of Gardnerian withcraft in all but a few oath-bound details and was to serve as a sort of middle ground between a non-initiate form and the rigorous Gardnerian Wicca. With the rise of other organizations as well as the do-it-yourself mentality, the Pagan Way fell apart in 1980.

Fitch also co-created a journal, The Crystal Well. Later, many of its rituals and essays were collected and published as a book called Magical Rites from the Crystal Well. This book, filled with beautiful pen and ink illustrations by John Goodier, is still much beloved by Wiccans. With its seasonal rites, magickal workings, and rites of passage, it's an excellent resource for beginners and the more experienced. He also authored Rites of Odin and A Grimore of Shadows


Cost for the evening will be $20.

Life is beginning to renew in the harshness of winter. In the ancient times of the northern regions, people gathered to see who had survived the winter and shared what foods they had with those who had run short.
