<div>We are three hardworking men in our 20's looking to relocate to the Bay Area for work and for school. We are searching for anything from a sub lease, or a large studio to a 2 bedroom apartment. We can pay up to $1500 per month, last months rent and deposit if necessary. We have a very well behaved dog and 2 housetrained cats and we are willing to provide an additional pet deposit as well. Unfortunately we are all still recovering from bad credit, resulting from medical bills and college debt. However, we are responsible, always pay our rent on time and can provide additional deposits, and co-signers if necessary. If you have any units that would consider tenets in our situation we would greatly appreciate it. Ideally we would like a place in the city of San Francisco, however we are open to living in the East Bay and south of the city as well. We know that we do not seem like ideal tenets, however we are very motivated to move to the bay and will do whatever we need to find a place.

Please email me at shadjua@yahoo.com if you or anyone you know may have such a place and are willing to consider us.

Starting the Healing Process.

<div>It is with a very heavy heart that I share with you all that Proposition 8 did indeed pass with a 52% vote, thus removing the right to marriage for same gender couples in the state of California.
I know many of you share the grief that I do with the passing of this proposition. During these past few months I have seen you out there with your protest signs while people yelled at you and threatened you. You came out to your friends and families as a gay/lesbian, or as an ally. You made phone calls to complete strangers to ask them to support marriage equality. You put your yard signs up over and over again as they were repeatedly taken down.
This campaign has been a labor of love for us all. We have fought an amazing fight. They came at us with a campaign based on fear and lies. They used every dirty trick in the book. But we didn't give in to that. We stood strong with nothing but love, truth and compassion as our weapons and in the end these things will always win.
What we are experiencing today is a great set back, but it is not the end of the battle. We made great progress this election and we will continue to move forward until all Americans are treated equally under the law. We saw last night, with the election of President Obama, that our Nation is ready for change and that change is going to happen. It will not be an easy fight, just as this has not been an easy fight.
However, I am confident that if we take all the love, all the knowledge and all the strength that we gained is this campaign, and we nurture it and allow it to grow, in time WE WILL WIN.
My endless love and gratitude to all of you who have fought this fight and who will continue to fight this fight. It has been amazing to see the love and support outpour from family, friends, neighbors and people I've never even met. The bonds formed and the dedication I have seen has given me a sense of faith in humanity unlike I have ever felt. I am truly proud to be an American and I believe that in this country, anything is possible because of people like you. So let’s join hands and continue to move forward and let the world know that while they may deny us our rights to marry, they cannot deny our right to love.

A message from Equality for All SLO Chapter Leader, David Kilburn...

We are disappointed and saddened by the passage of Prop 8. Many people are feeling hopeless and helpless. We all need to keep our hope alive and know that one day our gay and lesbian brothers and sisters, mothers and fathers, friends and lovers will have equality.

Let's gather this evening for a candlelight vigil to show our love and support for one another and thank all those voted to defeat Prop 8 and those who worked so hard to Support Equality.

Candlelight Vigil tonight (11/5/2008) at 5:30 pm, Mission Plaza - San Luis Obispo.

"Thank you to all who Supported Equality - We Shall Not Give Up."

<div>Yes, times change, people change...I've changed! As part of a (semi)mass consciousness known (or unknown) as the Vandersloot Family Circus, I shall now be known as my Sloot name: Bösendorfer Vandersloot! It may seems strange at first, but once you get the hang of it, it just feels right. Like a little party in your mouth. Try it. boo-sen-dor-fer van-der-sloot. ok, now again. booooo-seeeeen-doooor-feeer vaaan-deeer-sloooooooot.

As I enter my third year at the AIDS Support Network I can’t help but to reflect on my time spent at this agency. Working here has done much to reaffirm my faith in humanity. I am often touched by the strength of our clients, the kindness of our volunteers and the commitment of our staff. It amazes me to see how even in the face of adversity people can stand together and overcome.
Sadly though, there is still much to overcome. HIV/AIDS is still spreading and there is little sign of a cure in sight. Even as we see an increasing number of people contracting the virus, funding is still being cut. It is during times like these that we need come together and offer each other even greater support.
On November 3rd the AIDS Support Network and our clients could really use your help. This is the day of our annual Walk for Life, which is one of the major fundraisers for the agency. You can help by volunteering at the Walk, by being a “walker” yourself, or by sponsoring another walker, such as me. If you are able to help in any way and would like to get involved, you can either:

    </a>
<div>Three years ago today I opened my eyes from a half a nights sleep. I was groggy and anxious and I had a million things to do. I rolled over in bed and kissed Michael. This was it, our wedding day.

We spent the morning scrambling around getting things together. Fourteen groomsmaids needed hair and make up and two best men needed missing cuff-links and buttons. The cakes were still under constuction and two little plastic grooms waited patiently to assume their place on top. The bouquets were being arranged. Signs to the location of the ceremony were being put up then ripped down by the voracious wind. My mother was decorating an altar out of flowers and vines from her garden.
As the time came closer and closer to walk down the aisle everything became increasingly chaotic.
When we finally arrived at the beach we could see our guests waiting to bless our union. If only the best man could find the ring!
The ring was located and the procession began. Fourteen beautiful girls each wearing a white dress with orchids in their hair, each clutching two long stemmed roses, were lead by a tiny little flower princess down the dirt path to the bluffs.
About halfway down the aisle the flower princess tripped and lost her basket. She cried as her petals scattered in the wind. Her mother comforted her in her arms and the procession continued.
We walked down the aisle, Michael, his mother and myself. We were met half way by my mother, her arthritis wouldn't let her walk the entire distance. The four of us together made our way towards our patient guests. As we approached the altar I was overwhelmed by the love radiating from the faces of all the friends and family I have cherished throughout my lifetime. We let go of our mothers hands and grabbed each others.
As we stood facing one another the music stopped and the ceremony began.
We were blessed by our officiator, we were blessed by our friends and family and we were blessed by the four corners of the earth. Particularily the west, which responded to our call with a very strong gust of wind.
As we made our vows we were both so consumed with love and happiness that it weighed on us with a thickness so heavy it felt like grief. Our tears glistened as we looked into each others eyes and vowed to love each other in this world and the next.
We then exchanged our rings and turned to face our loved ones for the first time as married men. In return we saw each face mirrored with the same love and joy we felt in our own hearts.

Three years later, I am still blessed with my husbands love and with the love of all of our friends and family. There may be certain people who do not recognise our marriage and certain laws the try to discount our love, but they are irrelevant.
Our marriage is real in our hearts and in the hearts of the people in our lives who matter most. It is eternal and it will continue in this life and beyond.</div>
