and away she goes!

i've got chicken defrosting on my counter as we speak. it's the highlight of my day. i poked at it twice and it's still frozen in the middle, so it's this weird combination of squishy and frosty and hard. it's amusing enough because it's chunks of animal flesh wrapped in sunny yellow film and in every possible way distanced from what and where it once was.

eventually, it will be defrosted and i can burn up something tasty with it - iv'e been sitting on this recepie involving chive-flavored cream cheese and mushrooms for weeks. so i'm really antsy to see how it turns out. if there's one thing i love to do, it's finding ways to consume gobs of cream cheese (or other cheeses) and call it dining.

that and i've been having a lot of takeout, so it's time i got better acquainted with the kitchen.

now i shall poke the bird-flesh again and see if it's ready to scald along with thenice fresh fungus!
