about me
I studied ballet for several years. When I can, I study ballet with Carol Bellis at the Princeton Ballet School, a former dancer at the Garden State Ballet and Douglas Martin, formerly a principal dancer with the Joffrey Ballet in NYC and the American Repertory Ballet in New Jersey. I currently study Middle Eastern dance with Kim Leary (Alexia). I also studied briefly with Sophie Lucas-Herrera when she taught at the Princeton Ballet School. I am Level II certified in the Suhaila Salimpour Method. I performed for several years as a member of Raks Odalisque, the Middle Eastern dance troupe at Princeton University and with the Groove Merchant Drum and Dance Ensemble. Currently, I am a member of the Drum and Dance Learning Center Ensemble. I am very interested in the fusion of different dance forms together with Middle Eastern dance. On the faculty of the Drum and Dance Learning Center in Bordentown, New Jersey, I teach Middle Eastern Dance Basics at Princeton University.

This came at an opportune time as it is something I need to work on (once my hamstring heals...) and some of my dance friends might be interested in it too. So, I'm posting the link here. The video is of Pavel Tsatsouline and he makes it look very easy! I like the irony of his final comment as he sinks into the end of his split..., "Are we having fun yet?" Ouch!
