After making it out of the greater LA area without a scratch at the age of 4 1/2, the tallest kindergardner ever moved into the rolling countryside in between Ashland and Jacksonville and discovered her passion for playing in ditches, riding horses bareback with her sisters, finding snakes, acting out butch cassidy and the sundance kid ( i was always sundance), playing music and being a general wild animal of a child. Not much has changed. My ambitions are modest, my dreams are plentiful, and the curiosity of that wild child running shirtless through the forest has never left me. I'm OPEN.

Maybe a mile away or so, MarchFourth Marching Band were celebrating their fifth anniversary at the Crystal Ballroom. Is there a more fun band in Portland? A more flat-out wildly enjoyable show? Not that I know of. My colleague D.K. Row once described the band as Fellini-esque, and man, he was so right.
