I have been dancing since 1974 and I specialize in Egyptian belly dance and Arabian Gulf styles, though I also teach and perform other Middle Eastern and North African dances. Among them are Tunisian, Beledi dances including Shamadan and dance with sagat, Saidi, Egyptian style skit work, Melaya and Ghawazi. I teach Palestinian Debke and several styles of Samri/ Khaiji. I teach and perform throughout the United States and Canada, have a DVD on the market, write articles on dance and cultures of the Middle East and North Africa. I am a professional theatrical costumer and spent 7 years as costume designer in the Eastern Washington University Theatre Department where I had the pleasure and honor of working with Leonard Fowler, then Artist in Residence. I am Artistic director of Baharat!! dance Company. You can learn more about us at www.baharatdancers.com.
