I grew up in Riga, Latvia. I studied math at University of Latvia, and spent 2 years in Soviet air force. When Gorbachev began his reforms, my friends and I started a computer company. It was quite an interesting experience to see how economy transitioned to a free market. I moved to US in 1991.

In US I got my master's, and worked for a company that developed software for an automotive industry. I got to travel to many places where assembly plants were located. Later, I worked for an interesting start up that went bust at the end of Internet boom era (2000). At the present time, I am involved in a venture my partner and I started about 2 years ago. I also do software development on a contract basis and teach at University of Phoenix time to time.

What else? You should know that I am fun, single and starred in a documentary "Young Frankenstein" by Mel Brooks :-)
