The Spanish side of the family came to California in 1792, the native side in 10,000 BCE. I was raised on a small walnut and almond ranch in the central valley. I left home at eighteen and worked my way through college, flipping burgers, singing in a band, and eventually going into law enforcement for ten years. Later I worked in special education/deafness for another decade.
