I am a semi retired licensed building contractor and construction consultant.
In the late 60s and 70s I spent a lot of time with the "Family".
Early on the Family lived on California and later on the SW corner of Haight and Cole.
The Family was renovating the Haight and Cole commercial spaces as well as the two stories of apartments above. They opened a health food store in the corner space.
