<div>Got some fabric left over from that last chemise or skirt? Switching from cotton to linen or wool and don't know what to do with all that cotton? Did you buy fleece a couple of years ago and never get around to making that cloak? Found a wool you like better, so now the fleece is surplus? Now might be a good time to go thru and see what fabric you might not use again, while planning this years projects.

Pacific fabrics is offering coupons in exchange for fabric for Project Linus. (5% for every 1/2yd up to 20%)

They are looking for 1/2 yard or longer in kid friendly high quality cottons, flannels and fleece. Goes throughout the month of February.

Depending on the store location I've found some nice wools and linens there.

I've got some bags of fleece that will be going, maybe even some flannel.

<div>After a series of unfortunate events I found out this morning, while at work, that my Grandpa died this morning. He had gotten pneumonia recently and they had put him on oxygen this past weekend.

Then to add insult to injury - since I wasn't thinking straight - I posted to FB. Thankfully I was talking to Scott right after that and realized what I had done. My brother is on my friends list. I didn't know if he had been told. I didn't want him to find out that way. Thankfully Melissa seemed to be the only one logged in at the time and I was able to find a way to delete the message and post a shorter one.

Add this to other things lately and .....

On a Happier note. Happy Turkey Day everyone.
If you are traveling - safe travels.
otherwise... hug your family members (and friends) and remember to be thankful for them.</div>

7 countries you've been to.
USA, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong (when it was a British Colony), Red China, South Korea, Canada - Hey, exactly 7! although _technically_ Taiwan, Red China, and British Hong Kong were all part of the Republic of China.

6 things you've done today: (in no particular order...)
- Got a massage (twice)
- Drank Tea
- Went to work
- Wrote logic statements in Excel for my Solidwork's drawing
- Learned about Pultrusion (so I can help rework some of their die drawings)
- Picked up Scott from work (of course I was late because I was learning about Pultrusion)
- Spent way way way to many hours on the computer
Is that six yet?

5 of your favorite things in no order.
- Sewing (with a machine)
- Embroidery (includes hand sewing, but not hand quilting)
- Books
- Learning new stuff (like pultrusion)
- Designing

4 people you can tell [almost] anything to in no order..
- Scott
- Barb
- Jenny
- Scott

3 things that make you smile.
- Calabash (didn't know he is around during the off season, did you?)
- whiskers on kittens (especially mine)
- my friends
- waggling eyebrows
- bright colored fabric waiting to be turned into something
Can't narrow it to just 3 things.

2 things you want to do before you die.
- Be a mom
- finish the remodel

1 one thing you can't live with out
- Love (aka Scott)</div>

<div>come on, sing a long with me. You know you want to.

So last week I was training my replacement at work. This week I essentially worked two part time jobs back to back - spending the morning training my replacement in the toolshop and the afternoons at my new position. that is done. YEAH! I have worked my last shift in the tool shop. Believe it or not I'm going to miss it. I've worked with some great people over the last couple of years some of who are still there. But I think the new group might be a good fit for me - I don't think this is going to be the same type of engineering environment that I've been in before. they aren't as stodgy. Today one of the guys hid another guys cycling shoes. Yesterday one of them made some gross looking wad of gasket material that they were tossing about or leaving on key boards.

I need to find the Nerf basket ball that I have floating around here somewhere - there is a hoop set up over the desk behind me.

I'm still not sure what I will be doing since my boss was out of town 2 of the last 4 days, but I've been learning terminology and modeling up parts of a sliding glass door handle. (Who in there right mind schedules a meeting for 8 AM on a Monday?)

Ever Onward....Monday will be my first full day there. </div>

<div>for me to start reading my horoscope again.

Last Wednesday Scott talked me into coming into the coffee shop where I drop him off and get a hot chocolate for the road. While waiting for my drink I started reading the one page 'newspaper' that I think are required to be in all coffee shops now. any hoo - Cancer said to "..take great work in the projects you've completed. Work quietly at your own goals and forget about situations that you can do little about....Lucky day: Wednesday"

As it happened I had a meeting scheduled for later that day. Concerning something I had no control over. The only thing I had control over was the presentation that I had to give to show someone I had never met about how good I am with Solidworks (a 3D drafting program we use). I had to pull up some of my older drawings because HR told me they were using '06 not '08 (which all my cool new designs have been in.)

'Why?' you might be asking. Well for that we have to go back in time about 3 weeks - when for what ever reason I was web surfing and found a job posting. Then I went in and interviewed. Then I waited a couple of weeks while everyone went to a national conference and interviewed other people.

Fast forward to today. I got to work. The message light was blinking on my phone. I checked it. It was left at 450pm on Friday from HR (I leave at 4pm). So I called her back this morning. Starting in a couple of weeks I will be off on a new adventure.

And the next time you drive by a new home being built with Milgard windows. Just think to your self - I know one of the people who designed those windows. Then RUN! before they fall apart, because those windows were designed by Daf.</div>

    </a>
<div>The day was fun but can someone else draw the short straw next year to keep Calabash in line? I think he followed me home this year, but I guess that is to be expected after I had to drag him away from all the little dogs that keep yipping at him. Although I don't think the police officers quite knew what to do about him when he kept asking what the daffodils had done to warrant such extreme police protection, or where they in trouble and under arrest?

Sigh..... how long do I have to rest before the next event?

**picture courtesy of Chris Yetter*** thanks Chris I didn't realize anyone had a photo of this other than the camera in front of Calabash.</div>
