Suzanne has been dancing since 5 years of age. She studied with dancers in Egypt while performing there. She has performed in Egypt, Turkey, Greece, England, Switzerland and Russia, Ukraine. She performed on many cruise ships throughout the world including the "MV Pacific Princess", the Love Boat of TV fame. She is dedicated to cultural exchanges all over the world with her speaking knowledge of 9 languages. Currently she also studies with the Denpasar Balinese Temple Dancers and has a farm in Bali.

Suzanne teaches Middle Eastern Belly Dance at the University of Hawaii since 2001, and also at Pearl Harbor Naval Base as a Navy Fitness Instructor from 2001 to 2006. She is an American Council on Exercise licensed Personal Trainer since 31 Oct 2004. And a member of UNESCO' s International Dance Council or CID since 2004.

Ward's Rafters Belly Dance Show 27 Dec 08 ( events » nightlife ) Suzanne Hamdi Keyser will perform in Kaimuki at 6pm to 9pm. Other Hawaii dancers will perform as well.

Live band to free style with after the formal show.

Suggested donation $5.

My Blog

Just returned from magnificent Bali and want to share my new pix. There is a new Bali Safari Park in East Bali where I had the thrill of posing & carefully playing with Bengal tigers from 2 months to 6 months of age. After 6 months, it is too dangerous to allow these beauties to be around humans, only the trainers get near them. One amazing note is that the 5 month old tiger licked my arm--what an experience, as the tongue is like flesh razor blades!! Guess this keeps their prey in the mouth ... read more

There are 2 sessions during Summer semester:

Mon 2 June from 6:30pm to 8pm for Continuing/Intermediate belly dance
5 week session

Wed 28 May from 6:30pm to 8pm for Technique/Beginning belly dance
5 week session

Call the Leisure Center at 956-6468 to register. Classes in Hemenway Hall room 201. Bring a 3 yard veil for the 2nd meeting. Wear comfortable clothing, bare feet or dance slippers, hip sash (teacher will bring some for purchase at the first class).
