Serena's new Hoop Dance Series starts November 1st... 6 classes for $60!

hey everyone! Fall has arrived and my hoop classes are about to be moved back indoors again. I've picked a new studio to use, its called Viscount Dance Studios. It has much higher ceilings so we can practice our tosses and not have the space limit our range of motion. Its also a lot cheaper to rent, so i can keep my lower summer prices throughout the fall/winter seasons. Its also more centrally located, E. Burnside and 7th ave, has a wall of mirrors, hard wood floors, sound system, central heat and parking in the next door lot. its sweet! im starting a new series November 1st, this is a beginner-intermediate level series and will be super fun! don't be shy if you've never hooped before, I love working with beginners! Here's a brief overview of what the classes are about: 1- learn the basics- on body and off body, vertical and horizontal hooping : -waist, shoulder, neck, overhead, knee -vertical waist, angle, arm, behind back 2- put the dance in your hoop: -incorporate arm movement -walking, spinning, leaping! 3- reversals, currents, breaks and isolations 4- adding personality/character/emotion: -act out an emotion, get in character -move to the music/beat 5- performance/crowd interaction: -learn to have confidence! eye contact! smile! bow! 6- twin hooping-2 hoop variations The series goes for 6 weeks, and classes are held on Saturdays from 2-3pm. The series is 6 classes for $60. We will not meet for class on thanksgiving weekend. The series ends on December 13th, right before the holiday season craziness..... I'm encouraging everyone to do the entire series, but if there is room, i will allow drop ins for $15. PLEASE NOTE: the studio only has room for up to 6 or 7 girls/boys, so space is limited! grab your slot quickly, it will fill up fast. hey all! finally starting to come back into reality...they're not joking when they say you need to decompress after a burn.....wow! I had an amazing time!! tried to take as many pics as i could, but really you can not capture the feeling of this party through a lens! BM is different for everyone, there is so much to experience and so much to steer clear of as well ( like all the BDSM?) hehe....for me, i chose a healing mission while i was there, did lots of kundalini yoga and sound healing/vibrational classes, met other intentional wonderful beings and spent alot of time meditating out in the deep playa. Hoop Dance Classes every Saturday at Kenilworth Park- SE Portland

Hey everyone! Im back from Costa Rica and starting my hoop classes back up again. I have moved them to Kenilworth Park so we can enjoy the beautiful outdoor season! Kenilworth park has lots of shady and sunny spots, picnic tables, restrooms, water fountains and trails. Its located on SE 34th ave and Holgate Blvd. the 17 bus goes right to the corner of 34th ave and Holgate. please bring a water bottle to fill up, and a yoga mat or blanket for the opening warm up stretches. Ill bring a couple extra blankets as well. new class time: 2-3pm new class prices: $15 drop in (used to be $20) $60 for a 6 week series (used to be $90).....only $10 a class! classes are cheaper now that we dont have to pay for the studio space. Hey everyone! for those that have not heard of our new adventure....we are packing up our NW Portland Apartment into storage this monday and tuesday, and are driving to gemini festival in Belden, Northern Cali...then continuing on to San Fran where we fly out to Costa Rica for 2 weeks! yay!When we return, we have a wonderful new HOUSE waiting for us in SE Portland, really close to all of our wonderful new friends! we are gaining a big huge fenced yard, a deck for BBQing and second floor bedroom and a hugemongous basement, plus an additional bedroom and 400 more sq ft!!! We have been waiting for this since we got here and cait wait to settle into our new home... We are looking for any helping hands to help us load into the pod on monday morning....i know most people work mondays, but thought i'd just ask anyways....could also use a hand tuesday if thats a better day for you.. also, when we return to portland, we arrive july 2nd (wednesday) and were gonna have a moving in pizza party! come help us unload the pod and we'll hook you up with some treats!!! we hope to have the house ready for a house warming BBQ for july 4th afternoon....please come join us!!! we will be ready to chill in our new space for sure!!! thank you to Laurel, Inanna, amber, and jeff for watching our kitties, plants and jellyfish! heehee... we love you guys so much... hugs!! Spring is very much in the air! Ive been busy making hoops and just started a weekly hoop dance class in SE Portland. Classes are every Saturday from 1:30-2:30 pm, and we can go hoop in a park afterwards to practice our new moves if weather is permitting. We've had so many beautiful sunny days lately...ahhhhh..... ALL hoopers of all levels are welcome to attend. Even if your advanced, lets trade some awesome moves! or if your a beginner, we can start with the basics. Each class will vary and will depend on the attendees skill level. I Also have brand new hoops i've made for sale, made of super professional quality, and made with love! hoops range from $30-$35, depending on how much tape you want to use to decorate your hoop. I have a gigantic box of holographic, prismatic, fluorescent, mirror, glitter, gaffers and vinyl tape to choose from! you'll feel like you're at the candy store.... :) The address is 1235 SE division, off SE 12th.. at Euphoria Studios... when you come in the entrance of the building, walk straight all the way to the back and you'll find the 2 studios....both rooms have a full wall of mirrors and amazing warm colors and decor... hehe! We celebrated my 29th birthday all week long, starting off with heading to Seattle for the Parinirvana party ....we transformed the room into and underwater scene, with freshly home-made jelly fish, squid and fish! wow! what a trip! With only 2 days remaining here in beautiful Asheville, the excitement and the realization of change is finally starting to sink in. Change is in the air, its in the weather, changes in time, new hair cuts, new jobs, new homes, new circle, new life. Mixed emotions of excitement and nervousness and joy and sadness, thoughts of how can one possibly leave such a home as Asheville? and then the same repeating thought in my head over and over again.... "don't let your dreams be dreams". thats all i can hear, its my driving force, its what makes my heart pound.. and its what sends me on this journey. and i'm so lucky this time, to finally have a partner to ride the wave with me. :) don't let your dreams be dreams. its time. Hey everyone! for those that have not heard, monkey and I are moving to Portland in a couple of weeks! yay! we are trying to plan our driving route and we are putting a call out there for anyone along our route that might have a place for us to crash and get some sleep along the way. looking for friends in or near St. Louis, Kansas City, Omaha, Boulder, Denver, Colorado, Salt Lake City, Utah, etc... we will have 2 kitties that will be very sleepy and sedated....we are leaving on Halloween...and hope to get across in 3 or 4 days. thanks everyone! many hugz.... This party rocked!!! Atlanta parties are always fun, and this time we had a new space that was three times the size, and we decorated the new chill room as an ice cave!! brrrrrrrr!! we also made a new giant zome for the center of the main dancefloor, and i took part in the opening blacklight ritual with Melanie, Aastral, Soubhi, and Justina...was an incredible new experience for me. Made some really neat psychedelic fish as props for our water themed ritual, and had a blast making fun sea creature outfits!!
