Tell It Like It Is

Life is a great journey and a journey it is at that. Life sure ain't full of sweet tea and barbQ ribs but it's well worth living and learnin.
I've always admired those that can tell it like it is without being an asshole or condescending. Then of course if one needs to be put in there place then such is rectified in my opinion.
As I now head into my middle 40's and realize that I've lived alot of years. Not ready to even say I'm midway. Fuck That...I plan on being around to at leat 100 if not 100+. I'll just be a crotchety old redneck coot is all. Even if I'm confined to a wheel chair?.. as long as I'm still coherent and can enjoy life then I wanna live

Life is too short for bullshit and pettyness. I watched my daddy pass away at the young age of 56 years old from a massive coronary. Daddy was always the type to hold it all in. It was better to just smile and nod and either just take the middle ground or just remain quiet on the issue. He was a quiet man that walked with a big stick. He was slow to anger but once he hit his boiling point get the fuck outta the way.
Now my Ma is quite the opposite. She let's you know her feelings and thoughts. She uses tact and has a candor.

Why Can't Male Role Models/Celebrities Be Open and True to Who they Really Are

A real thorn in my hide ya'll and has been for years. First of all sorta a disclaimer here. I'm not bashing our more effiminate/flamboyant gay counterparts. They have just the much right to be who and what they are than I do being a hard core gay redneck. I just make the choice not wanting to hang around them.

What makes me totally fuckin sick is that this is what Hollywood, The Media portrays gays to be. Acting like queens, flamboyant and effeminate, can you say fuckin stereotype to the absolute max??. Portrayed are the hair dressers, cosmeticians, interior designers, etc a prissin, prancin around talking with a lisp throwin a bitch tude and walking with a sashe~` that would have made Marily Monroe seem boring. They walk around talking effeminate and the body language, gestures and movement, the queen bitch attitude. This is what is constantly portrayed on the media, the movies. Honestly it turns me off but each to his own and live and let live.
When folk think of gay dudes they think #1 we like to dress in women's clothes and the next thing folk evnsion in their mind is what we do in the bedroom and the mental picture two dudes giving it to each other in the ass.
Again no offense to those gay men that the above described as this is their way of life. That's cool that's what works for them.

What I'm sick of is the stereotype. How bout us Macho, Rednecks, Blue Collar, Sports enthusiasts and other dudes that little is paid mind too.
When the movie Brokeback Mountain came out that is probably one of the movies that has touched me the most in life. I was ecstatic that for once a movie was being made about two macho men. It was about time Hollywood was venturing into new territory. Cowboys? In many folk minds you can't get more macho than a Cowboy. Now here is a movie of two Cowboys that fall in love with one another. So innocent yet the suggestion of the sex scenes so raw, intense and so much like macho men.

Again the opression and repression of the day and the small towns in which these guys lived kept them from being who and what they truly are. To fit into society and not get noticed they both met women, married, had youngins. How often do we see this in real life? Too many times sadly. This is what I hope to at least make available a support network where these dudes can at least at first in secret do the research. They can see there are other dudes out there just like them. As with all self discovery once you breakground you keep wanting more.

What I'd like to see and this is something so sadly lacking. We need real men role models to come out of the closet. Wouldn't it be nice to see race car drivers, Professional Bullriders, baseball, football players come out of the closet and be open about who they are?.
I think it be totally awesome to see some hot male, macho role model and then showing his partner on a televised event instead of the usual normal hetero wife/girlfriend. We all know they are out there but they have to remain hush hush in order to keep their careers. How about male celebrities, singers especially country music singers. All these gay men that could be positive masculine role models are forced to keep it hush hush. They are ordered to date women and have some dripping, gushing slit hanging off there arm and many even are paid, told to get married to keep the rumors down and to save their carreers. After all the dripping, wet slits won't buy the CD's anymore, won't go to the concerts, same goes with the movies stars and celebrities. The ignorant, judgemental heterosexuals will stop buying their music, stop watchin thier movies, tv shows. The support will be lost in the sports arena or severe ridicule will ensue amonst fans and fellow team members. Sadly it's all about the money.

Ya know this is 2007 and we are well into the 21st century. Unfucking fortunately we are still governed by them asshole Puritans that came over 1600 somethin or other with the such rules and beliefs of goodie two shoeness. The Religious Right and Conservative Fucktards that I hold most accountable for us still being looked down upon and the forced oppression. Widespread acceptance is confined mostly to the big metro cities but not in podunk, backwoods, country, small whatever town. This is so sad to see in 2007. 1957 yes I could see it but not in 2007.
Yes things are chaning ever so slowly but at such baby steps I reckon not many of us will be alive to see the day when gay marriage is a normal occurrence with the same benefits. Hopefully a day comes soon when you see that hot hunk in his tight Wranglers fixin to get on the bull and the camera does a pan shot showing his partner in the audience. What a time it will be when you read of that hot male celeb or singer, your favorite sports dude and read his bio somewheres and it states about his partner. A day I hope that comes and I hope I'm alive to see such.

I've met dudes over the course of my lifetime that claimed to be totally straight,had wife and kids. Yet you can see it in their body language, the way they look at you as a friend. Maybe the look in the eyes is a bit deeper and longer than typical. Maybe that accidental bumping and brushing against you isn't accidental.

So I ask this?. Why is male bonding in hetero world so important. Dudes watch the game together,play cards together work in their cars and bikes and just do those typical guy things together. They seem much happier when they are around their buds, sipping a few, telling jokes and shootin the shit. They have a common interest but on the outside and most don't take it to sexual encounters or think anything of it. How many do you think have proclivities deep within about their buddy. A secret crush or admiration. I feel the numbers are much higher than we all would think if the inhibition walls of Jericho were allowed to come down and they could get over and beyond an entire lifetime of programming and brainwashing.

Hey I'm a gay redneck and just about every folk can't tell by gettin a glance at me. I have rebel flag tatoo's on both arms, big ole rebel flag belt buckle, I always wear jeans, boots and a hunting cammo design cap, beard and moustache and not to mention I'm a fairly big dude with massive arms and some very well paid for padding around the waist thanks to good southern eatin and a sweet tooth from hell. I'm a bad ass Good Ole boy, Redneck and send the flag out of DON'T Fuck with Me!!!!. Inside I'm a teddy bear.

Those gay dudes yeah the gaydar goes off just like any off us. Most of which are afraid to approach or even look at me as I look like a total badass and ready to kick someones ass that looks at me the wrong way. I went to Key West once and wearing my usual Wrangler jeans, boots, hunting cammo design cap and big ole Rebel flag tshirt.... the queenie guys gave me very wide berth. A couple leather daddies walkin hand and hand winked at us so we returned the acknowledgement.

Hopefully the day will come when we all can be open and truly who we are. Even in the smallest of towns without any reprecussions. It's all about educating the best we can.
The Christian Fundie far right needs to stay to themselves and not cram their hateful, propaganda, scare tactic rhetoric down our all's throats. If I want to go to church... I know where to go.
These conservatives so fucking up tight ya couln't pull a needle outta their ass with a tractor. They want all to stay the boring same or things to go to there own backward, fucktarded thinking.

If all these macho male role models, celebs would come forward I think that would be a serious stepping stone and a giant leap forward for us. A reassrance for our fellow dudes that are suffering the hell of keeping themselves and feelings so far deep that even they don't want to admit to it. So what comes forth is the anger, hostility and homophobia. A reassurance to them that hey it is okay.

I sure wish these macho figures in these arenas would come forward and squash that effeminate stereotype the permeates. Then folk could clearly see both sides. That oppressed side of the male machismo that are battling those feelings inside would see themelves as normal like anyone else.
