about me
What I have gathered through experience and reflection is that life makes most sense to me as a practice. We practice our professions, health and relationships, sometimes hitting the mark and sometimes missing, but hopefully learning as we go. The goal of the practice is growth in breadth, depth and connection toward the Truth that we are all One. I am delighted to find that practicing this is making me happier and more resilient as I go, even as I stumble, brush off, move on...
I believe we are here to 1) clean the slate and 2) re-create/co-create a sustainable future. I was born and raised in Portland and then chose to live in some very different and far-flung places. I have experienced some ways of living that stretched, inspired and scared me. These experiences have shown me that we in this generation and region have been born into amazing privilege, meaning: WE ARE LITERALLY THE LUCKIEST PEOPLE IN THE WORLD! Now, the question seems to be: what do we DO with that? For me, stories are one of the best ways for learning/communicating/playing with/healing each other. I like to convey and hear stories, both personally and professionally. I am an analyst, a dot-connector, a synthesist, a map-maker, designer, referee, player and cheerleader. I wholeheartedly support your quest to enliven your happy vision and ground it down to the center of the Earth and I hope you will help me stay on track with my own quest for the same. I am currently working on the *style* with which I do these things... Um, yeah. I mean, these are serious endeavors and all that but I seriously believe in: "Laugh often and laugh out loud." That said, if you don't like being reminded about the circle that completes the story and the essential goodness of living it all the way through, then you probably will not find my company very comfortable. But if you do, then I invite you to be part of my story and I would be delighted to be part of yours!

First I meet Jule when she save my life and life of my family against bad men. She is very smart cookie very dangerous.
Now I have find out she is also of very high taste with the shoe fashions! And I have much reason to know that she is making those in the bedroom beg for mercy. The spirit of fire is fierce. You must appreciate this. December 1, 2004
While visiting this corner of the world, it seems unfair to let Ralph have ALL the fun. I won't try to outwit that boy (he's got guile and experience all over me!) but we share a deep and heartfelt appreciation for this rare and extraordinary woman.
Jule entered my life obliquely and then suddenly had been there forever. There isn't a moment that can occur wherein she could escape her place in my heart. The true test of friends, perhaps, is the ability for them to simply exist in the firmament -- wild cosmos of links and loves that descend in blazes of welcome glory to shine on your existence for a brief moment and then return to their heaven. Jule is a star in my eyes and a pleasure to call friend. I am, as with all the best people, humbled to know her. July 24, 2004
What IS it about this one??? NOT a "normal", not by a long shot ha! Holler Eureka! if you seek for a lively mind - she is an oasis in a parched land of dull sleepwalkers Danger Danger if you are some sorta bull slinger (and watch for that left upper cut) There is no other color exactly like the blue of her eyes There is no laugh exactly rippling that same scale Makes a deadly good hors d'oeuvre and can spell it correctly too "But she's no drag just watch the way she walks.." an attractively packaged enigma a mansion with 1001 doors a rare and chaordic comet in the desert sky

Hey everyone, tonight is the premiere of a documentary I wrote and produced last year for MSNBC. It's called "Pendleton Juvenile" and is about a maximum security juvenile prison in Pendleton, Indiana (not Pendleton, Oregon). It's a great story on a tough subject, and one of which I am very proud.

This is a perfect moment. It’s a perfect moment because I have been inspired to say a gigantic prayer. I’ve been roused to unleash a divinely greedy, apocalyptically healing prayer for each and every one of you—even those of you who don’t believe in the power of prayer. And so I am starting to pray right now to the God of Gods ... the God beyond all Gods ... the Girlfriend of God ... the Teacher of God ... the Goddess who invented God. DEAR GODDESS, you who never kil... read more
Hi everyone. I'm in Indiana shooting a documentary about a juvenile prison. It's a pretty interesting experience... what I'm seeing here is not surprising but more of a reality check, I guess - actually seeing the ways people live, try to solve problems, help others, or manage their fears in hopeless or violent conditions. It's giving rise to lots of tangled thoughts right now which I know will take me a while to sort out.
