Yesterday I posted that I am going to be teaching a Rromany Workshop. Here is the description. Bring your skirt and grab a handkerchief!! This workshop focuses on Rromany Folk dances specific to Eastern Europe. I will be teaching some traditional dances as well as stylings, combos and of course, a little history. This workshop is perfect for dancers at any level. ive decided to sign up for trauma 2. hopefully, there will be some space left. i had debated it for several reasons but it is something i want to accomplish. it looks like renovations on the house will begin in late spring. we dont want a pipe to burst while jacking up the house. this actually gives me time to pick out paint, cabinets, flooring and time to take classes on how to do these things ourselves. cases are slowly coming down which is good because i need the time to study. as for dance, there is much to do in that area but i am taking things one at a time.

so at about 8 i'm gonna head out to vote. it will be interesting to see what happens. unfortuantely, i'm a bit of a cynic and i dont think its going to be as dramatic as the media has made it out to be. i'm working ALOT this week which is a good thing due to me taking off week after next and with xmas coming up. im a little nervous because some changes are being made to some of the programs i work through. this is somewhat motivating me to look into other avenues. i figure why not...everything else has changed this year. i think thats the theme of the day..or month. change. things have changed alot in the last few weeks which has left me thinking, "so, what now?" i'm trying to give myself a little bit of time to answer this question. i'm not really sure at this point. i know i want to put a few things out there and see what happens. GO VOTE!!!!

wow! i'm actually blogging..heh. on friday, i am taking a class with stephanie. i'm SO excited. my experience in bellydance is mainly tribal and stephanie teaches egyptian and turkish. i took egyptian for the better part of a year but it was inconsistent due to being in graduate school. huzzah! to learning something new.

we put in an offer on a house in bayview (2 blocks south of kristel). it was countered and then we accepted. as long as the loan approval and home inspection go thru within the next 10 days, we will be homeowners. we will close on may 19th :)...oh god...closing costs. buying a house, getting married.....did i all of a sudden grow up or something???

we performed at ostara fest yestersday. it was a good show and it was fun hanging out at the vending table and talking to people. kirstal and i took a healing through dance workshop. it was cool! i got to do a dervish and zar....very cool stuff. we are gonna make an offer on a house....i just want it to be over.

lots of stuff going on...i'm getting more cases and we are looking for a house. looking for a house is painful and terrifying...yet, exciting. we are finally coming out of mercury retrograde. i'm trying to get very focused on work as some cases are closing and others are opening. there is also this new program where i am the primary. i REALLY hope it works out. lots of ideas swirling around in my little head....if i could just catch one :)

tat con and GBD workshop

so i am finally bloggin about this last weekend. it was cool. on saturday morning i picked up kayte from the brookfield park and ride and we headed down to chicago. we got to the hotel and headed to palatine so i would know where to go after the first tat set. we get back to the hotel and get ready. we had our first set for the tat con and the only set for me. it went well. the second we were done, i ran out the door to get to the gothic bellydance show. i got there with no problems, ate something real quick and put the costume on. while getting ready i got to hang out with some old friends and meet new ones. then, it came time for me to perform. i was so nervous. this was my first solo....without barika. i dont really remember it to be quite honest. i only remember snippets. i think i did well and i received positive feedback on my performance and the costume. woohoo!! after i changed, i watched the rest of the show. there were so many excellent performances. i also got to see tempest perform for the first time which was a real treat....loved the costumes!!! after it was all over, i went back to hang out with the gals of barika. it was fun sitting around the hotel room, eating pizza and giving them the frame by frame of the other performances....some of them were amazing *cough* hipnotic*cough*. the next day, kayte and i went to the tempest workshop. it was a fun workshop. tempest was very funny and a good teacher. i also got ot meet her!!! words and phrases for the weekend "shish-ka-baby" -- lane "proper foodidge" --lane again "floaty heffahs" --jatre "i'm gonna get in my sock drawer and sleep for days" --kayte referencing a velvet painting "--kayte "you dont want porn face" --tempest
