As Executive Director of a small Alzheimer's Assoc. Chapter, I began painting with Alz patients to use the paintings as part of a fundraiser. We soon discovered that what we were doing (and how we were doing it) was actually causing changes in the patients. Several years and hundreds of artists later, we formed a non-profit organization to promote the training of MnemeTherapists with the two-fold mission of serving the Alzheimer's patient and providing a rewarding career for visual artists. AWBF offers a paid apprenticeship program to help artists with sales experience and sales professionals who will hire artists to open chapters globally.
