about me
I am a life long dancer - my involvement in middle eastern dance/belly dance now encompasses two decades. I embrace Raks Sharki and the "golden age" style of Samya Gamal. I do a lot of restaurant work in the Northern VA area - where I perform "American style" belly dance - combining many elements, sword, veil, zils, floorwork and Egyptian cane. I have several videos on "Youtube" including solo performances, troupe performances, and some teaching shorts. I have the honor of receiving multiple awards for my dance from east coast dance competitions. I produced a "low budget" DVD a few years back and hope to be producing a new DVD in 2008 centered around my developement of teaching "Stage Presence and Dynamics".

"A lovely little place I dance at....."
This restaurant is small in size - but large in great food, terrific atmosphere and some of the best dancers in the area performing on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings.

I have connected and reconnected with so many folks in the past year on "tribe" - but I have become lazy about posting or checking on a regular basis.... can I redo my last year's new year resolution.....

It is early Wednesday (Valentine's day) morning, I sit with my coffee, feeling like a kid when school has been cancelled (WHoo Hooo). My "day job" is going to be closed today due to weather - so today I will spend on my "other job" - dancing. I just wanted to say a big thank you to Yucy - as I know many others have - for her wonderful organization and energy to put together the "Arabian Nights" shows. I must humbly admit that I was the first dancer at her first show at the Colony South in Clinton MD - a few years ago.
