Yak is a lovely guy with a big heart and smile. He is an amazing hugger and makes extremely good tea. Not sure about his penchant for Wet Cheese.

about me
"Time you enjoy waisting is not wasted time"
My heros include Sir Ernest Shackleton, the bloke who sings for Pat Metheny (Pedro Aznar), Adrian Belew, Thomas Dolby, Ruth Underwood (Zappas' percussionist from the 70's), Andy Partridge, my dog Moose My first gig was Pink floyd /Animals/Wish You were here (I went under duress as the tickets cost 5 quid - it was the best money I've ever spent). I love Vancouver, Cornwall, Lisbon, Japan and Holland..I want to visit Prague and Vietnam. I think I want to move to Oregon although I've never been and would like to share my life between England and Vancouver Island. I miss my best friend JP who is back in England and can't fly due to fear of flying (like Kate Rusby). Thanks to him I met Steve Cooper who married Cathy who was the room mate of Lulubelle my beloved and soul mate I have two kids,My daughter is Lela (pronounced with a long "e") aged 10 and my son Jule (Pronounced Jool) aged 7. Thanks to my mate Adam who turned me on Iron & Wine and Adem - "We are indeed drifting into the arena of the unwell" I have started making primative drawings with pastels and Caren D'ache watercolour pencils and I want to break into using Oil paints and Acrylics. I also want to do some experimenting with taking digi photos and projecting them onto canvas and then painting them. (Dear Santa..if you are reading please supply a 10x12 Wacom tablet and Corel Painter 9) I do transformational breathing, sing tenor barbershop (sorry) and I used to own my own own tea stall and once worked as a chocolateer betwixt freelance jobs as a broadcast trainer in television ....more live music rants..... Next to seeing Floyd live I also loved Tom Waits in concert which was the next best gig I have ever seen, closely followed by Ian Dury and The Blockheads. Live concerts I also loved include Supertramp (I know!...I know!..but they were good), Ozric Tentacles (many times..my dream band to play in), Mojo Nixon, Kirsty McColl, Pat Metheny, John Martyn, Tangerine Dream, Black Sabbath, Martyn Simpson, The Jim Rose Circus Sideshow (life changing!!), Dave Lee Roth with Steve Vai, Penguin Cafe Orchestra (at Glastonbury), AC/DC and Billy Bragg (yes..I was surprised as well) I can't sleep in past eight a.m. Although we have a tv we don't have a satellite dish or cable but we only use it for a Netflix DVD every now and then. Food....I love Welsh or New Zealand roast lamb, chicken tikka masala from the Taste of Mogul in Twickenham, Baked Beans on toast, Worcestershire Sauce, Marmite, Galaxy Bars and Malteasers, sweets by the quarter, hot KRISPY KREMES (I already mentioned that), coffee from the Porto Rico Coffee Company in New York, Ruth Chris rib eye, Honey Crisp apples and watermelon, red, yellow bells and habenero peppers, my Lulubelles' Meat Loaf, cucumbers. - "We want the finest wines available to humanity, we want them here, and we want them now" Oh lord he's still at it.....Concerts that were "interesting" include The Residents,The Orb all nighter at The Brixton Academy, Psychic TV, Laurie Anderson, King Crimson, GWAR, Dread Zepplin, Bjork, Frank Zappa (I love him to bits but not live) likewise with Steely Dan. And gigs that were a waste of time included Jean Michel Jarre, The Damned (fell asleep), Gil Scott Heron, Dave Brubeck, St Etienne (truly awful bless 'em), The Stones, The Smiths, Judie Tzuke (fell asleep again...thanks to Jon Woods' mycological in(di)gestion), Peter Gabriel at Glastonbury (sorry everyone, but I loved him in Genesis) and Bruce Springsteen (I don't get what the fuss is all about) I get upset by .....extreme views of any kind, morning news headlines on NPR (how about something happy at that time of day?), the environment, U.S. strict laws on herbalization, not hearing "the shipping forcast" (Dogger, Tyne, Cromety etc) on the radio tileing bathroom walls, text messaging, creulty, rednecks, having missed Radiohead three times - four times now...hope the gig was good Greg, ring tones, fax machines, mosquitos and wasps, the smell of banana skins in my car, consumerism especially during the "holidays", running out of 2% milk for my tea, wax candle smoke, charging $2 for luggage carts at the airport When I grow up I want to study the path of shamanism, take a trip to Christiania, own some chickens ducks and geese, start my own Crepe business, walk across Britain, do a vision quest, go to Papua New Guinea and Borneo, build a recording studio, learn to ski, learn to play the concertina, visit the Northern Hill countries of India, build a yurt, go to Bhutan, own a pair of Yaks, visit Madiera, learn to like free jazz and modern classical music, own a Quad hi fi system, write an album and record it at Kate Rusbys' studio in Northumbria, hike Northern Spain, learn to lucid dream, write kids poetry, take a trip to Tasmania, own a pet Spinone, make a Baked Alaska, go to Alaska, figure out what the hell happened at Exegesis, when I had my only real positive proof of a world outside of our perception and the existance of my soul, visit Budapest, get a pet British Blue or Maine Coon cat, organize my photographs, take a holiday in Capri, play my Chapman Stick more
