about me
I started Sword and Scarab with Kim Hoover after being with The Bal Aziza Dance Troupe of Rochester. I decided I needed to go on my own since I wanted more in depth understanding and creative freedom. My decision has led me on a path of challenges and pleasures beyond belief. My dance career has given me many opportunities and rewards. It is fulfilling.

With starting Sword and Scarab, we are fortunate to a wonderful group of women. As a Troupe leader I do consider myself blessed with the women I dance with.

I teach at the University of Rochester through the Program of Movement and Dance. I teach at local community centers and have an in home studio.

I am the artistic Director of Sword and Scarab. I create 95% of the choreography for the Troupe. We have several styles such as American Tribal, African, Raks Assaya (Cane), Basket, Egyptian Oriental/Caberet (Raks Sharqi), Sword, Turkish Oriental (Danse Tansi), Water Jug (Raks Balas)& Veil.

I just wanted to say thank you to Raquy and the Cavemen for coming back to Rochester. I hope it was worth it for them to come and meet more of thier future Rochester/Buffalo/Syracuse and all other places in between fans.

I know first hand how tough it can be on the road. I don't know how they do it. I do it somewhat and it is hard on me because I have a family.

They played awesome as always. Thier stage presence is dynamic and playfull.

I also want to thank the individuals who ... read more
