Hey, I'm Not The Only One

<div>So, most of us see "floaters" at some point- transparent bubble or snake looking things (or little white dots) in our vision that are actually bits of embryonic tissue floating on the surface of our eyes. I can almost always focus in on these, and never really found it unusual, except when I was a little kid and would only see them on the Five North headed through Bakersfield and thought that someone was blowing bubbles on the side of the freeway, but no one else could see them.

BUT I also often (and by often I mean almost always) see what seems to me to be pixellated vision- like watching TV or looking at the computer. The images are still there and clear and defined, but it looks as though it is made out of pixels. In my strange moments it makes me wonder if the world we live in is real at all (the answer to that is no, but for different reasons.)

I just found out there is a name for this phenomenon- it's called "Visual Snow" and is reportedly a side effect from using hallucinogenic drugs. Now... I've never used hallucinogenic drugs. Wanted to, thought about it, never had a safe opportunity to try them. But hearing that other people have this to the point of there being treatments for it makes me a little safer in my semblance of sanity. There's more information at http://visualsnow.com and for those who want to see through my eyes, it's similar to http://www.thevisioncommunity.com/index.php?option=com_content&amp;task=view&amp;id=78&amp;Itemid=171 with the "Snow Density" set at 9 and the "Flicker Rate" set at 0.</div>

    </a>
										<div>The world just went explody. I've had tension headaches all day, so I've been taking it easy, sewing and computing and not doing a hell of a lot else. Cleaned up my room last night into a functional mess of sewing supplies. Just finished a slice of cheesecake, was going to go take a nap. BOOM. Cat runs into a sewing box, and there is now a bird flying around my room. Bird on the curtains. Bird on the fan. Bird on the bedcurtains. Bird on the TV. Bird behind the TV. Bird in the closet. Bird on the curtains again. Bird behind my crystal dragon. My foot in a pile of straight pins. Bird on the curtains. Bird in the closet. Bird on the window treatment. Bird flying away outside.

I'm sitting in the middle of a war zone. Empty boxes all over the floor. Pins everywhere. Feathers everywhere. Stuffed animals on the floor. Bedcurtains torn down. Fabric (that was to be trashed) all over the floor mixing with salvageable fabric. Dad's in the living room telling me to get a job. Mom's yelling at me for not taking her advice (to go take an advil, which I don't often do). Phone thrown against the wall.

All I wanted to do was fall asleep watching the TV.</div>
