My Blog

Today while cleaning out the last of my possessions from the old house (cue the Smith's song as it would be appropriate) I came across memorabilia I saved while studying abroad in Paris in '06. Allowing me to keep up my New Wave dance habit was Club Batofar, an old boat on the Seine that was transformed into a multi-level dance club. It was a lot of fun and although my study abroad friends didn't necessarily enjoy dancing to New Wave, they humored me once a month because they knew how it made... read more

I finally have my awesome, super groovy R. Black posters up. Thanks to Cary, I now have some color in my dining nook. It's a little narrow and hard to photograph but you get the idea. On other end of my kitchen, I have some Warhol plates and the colors coordinate really well. Jennie is joining me for a ladies luncheon. :)

Through the power of Facebook, I've reconnected with classmates from 6th through 8th grade (1984-86) when my family was stationed in Gaeta, Italy. The American military community was very small, it was like small town America right in the middle of a small Italian town. Therefore, the school for Americans was also diminutive. The biggest class I had was maybe 8 students. Fortunately for the population, it's ... read more

I was listening to Nouvelle Vague's version of this song today. I made a few changes:

(The Specials)

Out of bed at eight AM
Out my head by half past ten
Out with mates and dates and friends
That's what I do at weekends

I can't talk and I can't walk
But I know where I'm going to go
I'm going watch my money go
At the DNA Lounge

When my feet go through the door
I know what my right arm is for
Buy a drink and find a place
at the edge of the dance floor

Bouncers ... read more

at Berkeley Repertory is finally opening next week on the 19th. This show is my baby. Although I've worked for BRT for 11 years now, this is my first crack as costume supervisor for this very large and brilliant production. I have my blood, sweat and tears in this one and after seeing rehearsals tonight I have to say, I'm pretty darn proud of it. Anyway, if anyone wants to see it there are a few cheap ways to go about it: 1) I may be able to get you discounted tickets during the run of the pr... read more
