The Haps'

Come see the show I'm designing sound for!!! I will be performing live onstage and running the whole show off Traktor...pretty neat stuff I've been experimenting with DJ'ing and Sound Effects for this show, so come check it out!

Guerrilla Rep and Mama Calizo's Voice Factory present "Strings", a new bromantic dramedy written by Terrence Beswick and directed by John Caldon.

"Strings" plays May 14 - June 6 (Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8PM) at Mama Calizo's Voice Factory at 1519 Mission Street in San Francisco.

"Strings", from the writer/director team of last year's hit tragicomedy "hotshot", features Juan Carlos De La Rosa and Michael Rodriguez as two brothers who are collaborating on a new play about family, fiddles and demons... But are these memories or fantasies? Whose story is this? The connections they make surprise them both.

"'Strings' is both a drama about a memory of a nightmare and a comedy about a nightmare of a memory. Terry Beswick's latest play holds a mirror up to itself, and in so doing becomes simultaneously poetic, hilarious, and haunting," says director Caldon.

For tickets ($15 general, $12.50 students/seniors, $10 groups of 10+), call 800-838-3006 or visit www.guerrillarep.org.

A portion of all ticket sales from Strings will be donated to Community United Against Violence.

As some may know, I might be loosing my job come end of June closing the 08-09 fiscal year. The future is unsure for us as we hope for a generous donor to cover the $160K defecit we are in, for the time being all employees at the Museum are taking a pay cut and cut of health benefits. If the economy wasn't so bad, I don't think I would be worrying as much as I am.

I hope this message passes on to someone who maybe attended the Children's Museum in Oakland at some point in time. It is such a great outlet for kids in Oakland. Of course when times are rough, the Arts are the first to go in a community. I wish it didn't have to be this way.

I am also unsure of my future. If anyone knows of any job openings, please keep me in mind. I have college degrees and administrative non profit experience. However, I don't know how the non-profit world will survive in the years to come. Maybe it is time for a serious career change.

Thank you for taking the time to read this!
